About Me

"Without the land we'd be lost people. It's a spiritual thing. That's where you're born... that's very sacred. That's your spiritual home 'til the day you die."Banjo ClarkeThis MySpace is dedicated to the Aboriginal Indigenous Communities in this country from whom we stole this land and ruined their lifestyle. This is a page to say SORRY for everything that has and is being done to harm or hinder these people... And this sorry comes right from the bottom of my heart. For people that don't know, here is some background info. The Australian Aboriginal probably arrived here around 60,000 years ago and is thought to have the longest continuous cultural history in the world. They had a very unique society which existed in harmony with nature and without ever destroying their environment, food resources and themselves for thousands of years. The Aboriginals believed this great land was created in the Dreamtime by mythical beings that later became features of the landscape. These beings were the Aboriginal ancestors who handed the land to them on condition that they looked after it, fulfilling ritual obligations to their ancestors. The Stolen Generation (or Stolen Generations) is a term used to describe the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, usually of mixed descent, who were taken from their families by Australian government agencies and church missions, under various state acts of parliament, denying the rights of parents and making all Aboriginal children wards of the state, between approximately 1915 and (officially) 1969. The policy typically involved the removal of children into internment camps, orphanages and other institutions - YES. our ancestors did this to the Aboriginal people. Shame... The name "aborigine" derives from the Latin, meaning "original inhabitants." Which means YES, They were here WAYYYY before us, so show them some respect!
