I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm 20 years old and live in Wynyard, Tasmania. I am passionate about Australia's (especially Tasmania's) natural environment. I've spent about 3 years at tafe doing horticulture and conservation and land management. I have a thing for tasmanian native plants. I've worked a few jobs mainly in paddocks picking spuds and tulips, but have also worked for a wildlife tour business showing and interpreting mainly penguins and platypus but also birds and some flora, i have surveyed penguin colonies, and i have surveyed environmental weeds on the north west coast. But right now I am working as a receptionist whilst waiting for something else interesting to come up... One day I hope to do a few trips around Asia, South America and maybe Polynesia. In my spare time i go bushwalking, wilderness photography, chakra meditation, surfing, gardening in productive little vegie patches, drawing and spray painting, playing guitar, hangin out with my mates, listening to good music, meeting new people and discovering new places and things.....I LOVE: birds, frogs, lizards, furry animals(not spiders though - they're a bit scary), enchanted forests with mosses, lichens and bright little fungi everywhere, birds of prey especially sea eagles, the sound of rain on a tin roof, lollies, the ocean and sand, bright purple sunsets, sunrises, echidnas and platypus, the smell of the ocean on a warm evening, the smell of the rain, the smell of a freshly cut lawn, Fender and Gibson guitars, moutains, karst features and landscapes, parties, catching up with old mates, eating out, eating in, skip bo, yahtzee, uno, the way gum leaves smell in the summer breeze, the roaring waves of the west, the clean waves of the east, growing plants, summer barbecues and fruity punches laced with vodka lol, sitting on the forest floor and listening to the birds and insects sing together, watching birds of prey, tattoos and piercings, different cultures, road trips, unique people, books, watching awesome electrical storms, turtles, Sisters Beach I DISLIKE: Gunns Ltd, Forestry Tas, the sound of chainsaws - and the way in which they are used, racism, judgemental people, the destruction of our natural and cultural heritage, the way the word democracy has become meaningless to tasmanians, people wearing animals skins and furs for fashion, the way the japanese justify whale slaughter as "scientific studies", when multi-million dollars companies sue good people for standing up for our mother earth, dirty pulp mills, cable logging, everything nuclear from uranium mining to bombs, animal cruelty makes me angry,
