About Me

I am a life-long campaigner and Leader of the Australian Greens. Since becoming a Senator in 1996 I have introduced bills on a range of humanitarian and environmental issues, such as banning mandatory sentencing of Aboriginal children, supporting death with dignity laws, calling for truth in food labeling, for forest protection, blocking radioactive waste dumping, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the use of solar energy in Australia. I have a house on the Liffey River beneath snowy Drys Bluff in central Tasmania.

3 things you didn't know about Bob:

I am a twin I was working in the casualty ward of St Mary Abbott’s Hospital in London, when an ambulance screamed to the door at 11.20am on September 18, 1970. I didn’t have the time to pay much attention – I was attending to a man who had been run over by a train - when I went over to see the new patient, it was legendary rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix, who was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. I am a keen photographer and recently held my second photographic exhibition in Hobart, Tasmania. The slideshow below is a collection of some of my favourite photographs. www.greenart.com.au
