Synthetic Folk-Hero

About Me

How does a saxophonist become a folk musician? He doesn't. But in the process of trying, Synthetic Folk Hero has discovered dark, bizarre, fun rock. It has been said "SFH Might Be Pee Ween Zappa Herman". He simultaneously controls 3 electronic devices, 2 saxophones, 2 microphones, keyboards and defibrillator paddles! SFH sings about spooning, unrequited love, and organic vegetables. He's toured Canada, Europe, America, and China. His CD features members of Stars, Broken Social Scene, and more! From complex songs with polyrhythms to simple songs with four note melodies you'll find it all under the SFH umbrella, which "shelters the world from the ordinary"."He's like nothing else! Spacey, experimental, Muppet pop" - Sook Yin Lee, CBC"SFH is a songwriter's wet dream" - Tim Bovaconti (of Ron Sexsmith)"Like playing musical hopscotch with Lewis Carrol five minutes into the future" - Jamie O'Meara, Hour Magazine "mmrrfff, lllurrfff, and cool!" - From Jane Sibbery's illegible letter of praise"I will feel no suprise when SFH is on the cover of Rolling Stone...or in jail!" - Bob WisemanBuy the CD or watchSFH on Video
