Tom Cook began writing songs in 1991 after seeing the Highwaymen perform in Sun city Az.Heavily inspired by his "Mt. Rushmore"(John Prine,Todd Snider,Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash) He's proud to tell you that he's stolen a little something from each one of them.He's honest enough to tell you that he has struggled with demons in his life and considers himself lucky to be alive.With over four years of powder free living under his belt,he is now focusing on his songwriting and musical growth.Tom has lived in San diego Where he grew up,LA Where he threw up,Denver Where he learned to play,Alaska Where he wanted to stay and in Nashville below the mill creek bridge where he barely survived his final days of Cocaine abuse.Now living in Bozeman Mt,He has found a Higher power and a better way of life along with some great friends and fellow musicians.He is currently putting finishing touches on his first full length C.D. "Break Even" which features some of Montanas finest musicians and is getting ready to start work on an acoustic solo project,"Words and Chords". Tom is also busy playing gigs in and around Bozeman,both by himself and with his new band,"Boot Whiskey" which includes local favorites,Chris Donahue,Grant Gilmore,Garret Robinson and Kenny "Sidewinder" Stancil.
