About Me

WELCOME TO GRAHAM LINDSEY'S OFFICIAL MYSPACE PAGE
In 2006, Graham Lindsey packed up his guitars, banjo, and two dogs and left his longtime log cabin home in the woods of Wisconsin. He traveled West to Montana where he married and shortly thereafter began to compile and polish the stunning wealth of material that has become his third studio album and its E.P. counterpart. Both releases are due out simultaneously late Summer, 2008 on Spacebar Recordings in the U.S. More details will be announced shortly!
Graham Lindsey currently lives in Montana with his wife and two dogs. While perhaps not the most predictable of paths for most modern twenty-something year-old career driven troubadours, Lindsey’s unlikely journey actually began long ago at the wet eared age of thirteen when he was inducted into punk rock history and official musical bratdom as a member of “the worlds youngest punk band” Old Skull.

In 2003, a little older and certainly wiser, he released his critically acclaimed debut solo album Famous Anonymous Wilderness. The album was written during the first of many to come self imposed exiles while holed up in a rural Nebraska farmhouse after many brief and repudiated moves around the country (New Orleans and Brooklyn among them). Featured on a special edition of NPR's All Songs Considered as well as making it onto dozens of 2003 top ten lists -including two Rolling Stone Critics’ Choice lists, Famous Anonymous Wilderness was most notably heralded by No Depression Magazine as “the most audacious roots songwriter’s debut since Gillian Welch’s Revival.” It also received Honorable Mention for Best Debut/Artist and was chosen as one of the Top Forty Albums of 2003 by Harp Magazine. Various tracks from the debut have received national and international radio airplay on a variety of public, college, community, and AA radio stations, specialty shows, XM Satellite Radio, and numerous net streams.
Following the release of Famous Anonymous Wilderness, Lindsey’s songs began showing up in many promising spots, among them Uncut Magazines cover-mount CD Tracks Inspired by Bob Dylan –Volume 2 (alongside Richie Havens, John Prine, Steve Goodman, Billy Bragg and others), the opening credit sequence of the feature film Dunsmore (starring W. Earl Brown, Talia Shire, Barry Corbin) directed by Peter Spirer, and Bloodshot Records’ 10-year anniversary compilation For A Decade of Sin: 11 Years of Bloodshot Records in which his inclusion was called “one of the most haunting down-home performances” on the 2-disc set.

Lindsey’s sophomore effort Hell Under The Skullbones immediately earned the 1 spot on the Euro Americana Chart overseas, and celebrated a string of similar successes in the U.S. since its worldwide release in 2006. The ten song “excellent mid-sized album,” (Heaven Magazine) is “fiery folk-blues-twang, augmented by notable cameos from Van Dyke Parks, pedal steel whiz Greg Leisz and ex-Captain Beefheart guitarist Moris Tepper,” (Uncut Magazine). Also featured are upright bassist Larry Taylor (Tom Waits) and Nick Vincent (Frank Black and the Catholics) among others.
Throughout his career, Lindsey has performed as official tour support for Wayne "The Train" Hancock and has shared bills with acts including Scott H. Biram, Robbie Fulks, Lou Barlow, .357 String Band, The Hackensaw Boys, Two Cow Garage, Oh Susanna, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter, and Laurie Stirratt. He has also shared stages with Dave Heumann (Palace Brothers), and Dave Bergander (Celebration). While Lindsey doesn’t book performances very often, his live shows have steadily become much sought after not-to-miss events.
