got a push button soul...and a shot of rock'n'roll

About Me

Armed with a passion for songwriting and an acoustic guitar, Jon Robins definitely sets the mood from the first song to the last. This young musicians odyssey began at age 17 in Caney, Kansas, singing and jamming in attics and garages every chance that was available. Things didnt take a serious turn until college, where Jon attended Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, on a football scholarship. As fate would have it, his roommate as well shared a passion for music and acoustic guitar. It was in this environment that Jon was able to grow tremendously as a musician, and began to toy with the notion of singing. Before he knew it, he had his first acoustic show at a local dive bar, to a crowd of rowdy college kids who, until this point, didnt have a care in the world for americana music. Word spread, and a small following developed as friends and fans would turn up in Lawerence, Coffeyville, Caney and just about anywhere else in Kansas within driving distance. Upon graduation, a decision was made to take the leap and head to Austin, Texas, to try the water there. After a year of dredging around dive bars and playing open mics, Jon returned to Kansas to get in touch with his roots and hone his skills. This short lived music career has covered 3 states, and multiple cities, towns and back road bars. The future has never looked brighter, as the release of his first album is just around the corner...Stay tuned!"County music went downhill the day that Johnny Cash quit taking pills" -Ray Wylie Hubbard" target="_blank" This profile was made at Whateverlife.com! :)
