Jade's Biog
Jade is best known for being the lead vocalist and co-writer for the bands Planet Of Women and Barebone. She is a professional singer/songwriter/session singer who’s wealth of experience and talent has led to her performing with and alongside artists such as the Quireboys, Thunder, Graham Bonnet (Rainbow), Towers Of London, Mohair, The Answer and Jocelyn Brown to name but a few.
Jade has also gigged with Gary Grainger (Rod Stewart’s guitarist) and regularly with Paul O’Brien (Glen Matlock’s guitarist) and Mark Van (Candi Statton’s guitarist).
Jade and Planet Of Women’s best achievement has to be having a 9 single in the BBC Rock Charts, Single Of The Week in The Independent and many other reviews which you can read on this and Planet Of Women’s site.
Jade co-wrote the single Waking Up The Neighbourhood with Static, which was produced by Ace (lead guitarist and main writer for Skunk Anansie). The single was played on many radio stations including Kerrang!, XFM, Radio 2, BBC 6 Radio, Total Rock and BBC London 94.9. Planet Of Women’s video for the single was regularly played on Scuzz and their version of Bad Medicine (Bon Jovi) was played on Virgin Radio.
Planet of Women also recorded 3 other tracks with Ace including I’m A Women mixed by Dan Sprigg (Lost Prophets). Planet Of Women’s gigs have included The Download Festival 2 years running alongside other artists such as Black Sabbath, Metallica, Feeder, Slip Knot, Billy Idol and many more. They also gigged at Rock In The Castle Festival supporting The Wildhearts and Terravision. Jade has toured the country with Planet Of Women doing both headline and support tours. Some of these support tours include Thunder where she duetted with lead singer Danny Bowes to rave reviews. Thunder liked it so much they put the live version of Stay With Me Baby on their Six Shooter album.
Jade has also co-written with Luke Morley (lead guitarist and songwriter with Thunder), she also sang backing vocals at Rock City for Thunder’s Christmas Gig.
Jade has co-written with Joe Elliot (Def Leopard) and Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) and co-written/recorded with Chris McCormack (3 Colours Red) and Rich Battersby (The Wildhearts), these songs include Who Do You Think I am and I Think I Love You (which can be heard on this site).
One of Jade’s most enjoyable experiences was recording for Tony Platt (Island Records engineer/producer for ACDC, Free and Bob Marley & The Wailers); she has also recorded for renowned songwriter Scobie Ryder.
Jade has done many Jazz and Blues gigs with the amazing Paul Robinson (Nina Simone’s drummer for 20 years). She has also co-written jingles for Virgin Radio (which was played numerous times), Gary Crowley (BBC London 94.9 FM) and did the first live acoustic set at BBC 6 Radio with Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden). She has also done a live acoustic set for Kerrang! At the Download Festival and done many other interviews and jingles for radio stations up and down the country.
Some of Planet Of Women’s best interviews have been at Total Rock Radio where the fabulous Andy King has supported them from the start of their Planet Of Women career. They have done many acoustic songs live for him which include Jimmy Page (written by Jade/Static) and It’s Only Rock & Roll (Rolling Stones) as a tribute to Tommy Vance.
Planet Of Women have also supported the Quireboys on a UK Tour where Jade duetted with lead singer Spike every night as well as doing backing vocals, and Graham Bonnet (Rainbow/Alcatraz) on his UK Summer Tour where Jade again duetted with Graham and did backing vocals for his band.
BAREBONE
Some of Jade’s other achievements have been the lead singer and co-writer of Barebone. The band includes a high standard of musicianship coming from Jim Russell (drummer for Scottie Moore – Elvis Presley’s guitarist, The Inmates, Stretch and Hazel O’Connor), Bill Burke (guitarist for The Humans who has also sessioned for many other high profile artists) and Tony Muschamp (another top session bassist and has recorded with the great Frank Gambale).
You can hear some of Barebone’s music on their site at Barebone
Jade and Barebone have also had the incredible privilege of recording with one of Europe’s leading Pedal Steel players, Melvin Duffy, who has worked with the likes of Robbie Williams and Paul Young.
Jade has also sung with the lead singer of Uriah Heep and gigged with the original drummer of Praying Mantis. She has duetted with John Bonham’s sister (Led Zeppelin), Deborah Bonham, at the tender age of 17. She has gigged, recorded and co-written with Colin Farley (Cutting Crew) and gigged supporting Never The Bride and duetted alongside the girls. Jade has sessioned many a time with 60’s band The Tornados which included the drummer Clem Cattini who famously played on 41 No. 1 hits and was Top Of The Pops house drummer for 10 years. She’s gigged alongside The Foundations, The Drifters and Love Affair, sung backing vocals for Susan Maughan (Bobby’s Girl) and did an open-air concert to 6000 people supporting Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Jade has gigged, sessioned and co-written with many people and has, and still is, thoroughly enjoying her musical journey and the wonderful people she is meeting along the way.
Jade hopes very much you enjoy her site.

What The Papers Say . . .
"Located somewhere between AC/DC and The Supremes, 'Waking up the Neighbourhood' is an explosive debut single from a band who might just be the next best thing to happen to UK rock since The Darkness. They're better looking too." - Kerrang
'Real rock, cool cool cool infectious AC/DC flavoured rock - think early AC/DC fronted by Tina Turner, think classic Bellrays, think Young Heart Attack, think Montrose fronted by Janis Joplin - rocked-out dirty-guitar girl-fronted rock drenched with soul and a voice to die for.' - Organ Magazine
Single of the week 'Despite the success of The Darkness, no one else has taken advantage of the demand for big showy rock.'
'But these 3 south London girls arrive with a soulful twist, an in-your-face tune and a singer with a lung capacity twice as big as Janis Joplin at her most full on.' **** - Independent Information

[email protected] Like your rock pretty dirty…? Like your bands pretty and dirty…?

God may have created man but the gods of rock created Planet of Women.&nbsp&nbsp Combining the power of AC/DC with the live show of Tina Turner's soul revue, their unique set up of three singers echoes the pop sensibilities of The Supremes but with the sound of Aerosmith and the attitude of The Runaways.&nbsp&nbsp Rock n Roll's their lifeblood and living the rock 'n' roll life is something that lead singer Jade's been doing all her life.
