About Me
Hi! My name is Nina Marie Clarke and I am a singer/songwriter/session vocalist from London/Birmingham. I have performed under a variety of guises throughout my singing career, from a gospel chorister with soul to a rock chick with balls! Music is my passion and I spend just about every hour of the day listening/performng/writing…life would be a miserable place without music!!
I am best known for being one of the three female vocalists fronting rock band Planet Of Women. We have performed all over the UK, including the Download Festival (alongside Black Sabbath, Billy Idol, Metallica, Feeder), Rock in the Castle (supporting the Wildhearts), Bristol Academy, Rock City (Nottingham) and just about every music venue in London (including the Mean Fiddler, The Garage, The Barfly). We have suported Thunder, The Quireboys and Graham Bonnett on Tour and have sung backing vocals for all three bands. We have also supported new up and coming bands like Towers of London, Mohair, The Answer, Red Star Rebels and The Glitterati. We have performed a jingle (written by Jade/Static) played on Christian O’Connell’s breakfast show on Virgin Radio, and have been interviewed by Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) on Radio 6, Gary Crowley for London Live, as well as many other radio stations.
Aside from rock, I also sing sometimes with The Tarantinos in tours spanning the whole of Europe, have duetted with Jamie Oliver on several tracks for his performances at the Good Food show (oh yes, and I sang in a soul band at his wife, Jules’, 30th birthday), am Agnetha in an ABBA tribute band, have sung with London Community Gospel choir at the Albert Hall and have done session work for numerous songwriters and producers.
Aside from music, you may also spot me on the TV appearing in random adverts (including one where I am mistaken for Hagrid by my on screen children – charming!!) or hear my voice on various voice-overs.
Hope you like my site!!!
