JOANovARC was founded in 2005 by sisters Sam and Shelley Walker. With Debbie (drums) and Luita (rhythm guitar), the band has toured up and down the UK with explosive shows, electrifying audiences at the London Astoria, the Garage Downstairs, The Pitz, The Barfly, Harley Davidson Chopper Show in Slovakia or at Rhythms of the World, to name a few.
Gaining support and respect in 2006 from legendary dudes such as Bruce Dickinson and Brian Howe helped the band to have national radio airtime; at one BBC6 Radio show, the girls met Bruce, played a few tunes leaving him flabbergasted and shouting "these girls can shred"!
In 2007, the band started auditioning for a girl able to match their musical skills and able to complete the rhythmic section. After a year long quest, Luita appeared to be the one and joined JOANovARC.
New songs have just been recorded at the end of May 2008 at Bark Studio with producer Brian O'Shaughnessy and a new live set is being rehearsed for the summer. New songs will also be unleashed on the road and an EP is to follow in the summer!
