About Me

Let's see where to start. Well I'm 29 and in my 29 years on this earth I have lived in 4 different states: Florida for 14 (very humid) years, Iowa for 10 (very cold) years, Arizona for 2 (very hot) years, and now in Texas for 2.5 years. In my youth I was forced to play soccer for 2 years. I didn't particularly care foe it. I also choose to play tennis and basketball. Loved them both but was better at tennis. Have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa: Go Cyclones! Took me 5 years to get my 4 year degree but that seems to be pretty common these days. Am a big hoops fan. Still a Bull's fan from back in the days of MJ. I also enjoy the new Bulls with all there young talent. I also am a huge fan of Nash and the Suns, Dirk and the Mavs, and Duncan and the Spurs. As far as football goes I love the Giants, go Manning, and am also a fan of the other Manning and his Colts. I also support the Broncos for my dad's sake. I also support the Chiefs for my aunt's sake. Been a big Star Wars nut my whole life. Was a big Trekkie for about 7 years mostly during the height of The Next Generation and the beginning of Deep Space Nine, but I lost interest with Voyager. I also enjoy actual astronomy and studying the stars and planets. Have been a gamer for about 12 years. Played mostly D&D starting with 2nd edition and then 3rd and now 3.5. However what I really love are the Sci-Fi ones like Shadowrun, Hero, Alternity, & Star Wars. Have also played 7 Seas, Deadlands, and GURPS. Also played a few home brew sysyems. Played Magic: The Gathering for about 4 years while I was in college but I haven't played that on a regular basis in quit a while. About 6 years I guess. Love Settlers of Catan and some of the card games like Chez Geek, Munchkin, & Lord of the Fries. I'm also a bit of a bookworm, espically with Science Fiction. Also read Tom Clancy and Stephen King. So basically, I'm a geek. But I'm ok with that.I'm not one who goes out drinking a lot, but I like to hang out with my friends and do some role playing or watch movies and just chill. I'd rather have a few good friends than a lot of pseudo-friends.Favorite Foods: I love nachos. Real nachos now, the ones with meat and sour cream and everything on them. Ribs are also another delicious and messy food. I would recommend anyone who hasn't tried a Mongolian Grille style restaurant give it a shot it is really delicious and good for you too.Environmental Issues: I feel we need to focus on doing more recycling and funding research for cleaner and more efficient fuel sources. Now I'm not a vegetarian and I do feel people where given dominion over the creatures of this earth by God but that doesn't mean we should pollute, strip mine, and clear all the forrests until there all dead. People are animals too and if we don't wise up there won't be any people left on this planet either.Religious Beliefs: Was raised in the Lutheran church but let the church for a while when my mom died when I was 14. I just want to remind everyone that God loves you more than you can know. Even when it seems like He might not be there He is. I hope everyone who has left the church at some point will take the time to go back and once again get in touch with God's love. I have recently begun going back to church myself and am currently converting to the Catholic faith. May God's peace and love be with you all.

My Interests

Have been a gamer for 12 years. Have mostly played D&D starting with 2nd edition and going on to 3rd and then 3.5. I really enjoy the SCI-FI ones like Shadowrun, Heroes, Star Wars, and Alternity. Played Magic for about 4 years while in college but haven't done that in like 6 years.. Love basketball, espically the Bulls, Mavs, Suns, & Spurs. Big NY Giants fan and fan of the Manning brothers. Bit of a book worm. Espically sci-fi. As well as Tom Clacny and Stephen King. Love movies: all types except horrors but in particular Sci-Fi and comedy. Love to play computer games. Mostly Star Wars themed ones and ones made by Blizzard such as Warcraft II and III, Diablo II, and Starcraft. I'm so psyched that Starcraft II is finally almost here.Star Trek: First Contact

I'd like to meet:

Harrison Ford: He is Han Solo and Indiana Jones, enough said.Jennifer Connelly: Not only is she strikingly beautiful but she actually seems to have a brain in her head and isn't alwyas in the tabloids for acting like an idiot. Her Sci-Fi movie Dark City is very good, and all her performances are great even if the movie isn't, just look at the Hulk. Very talented and gorgeous.Michael Jordan: Not only because he was the greatest basketball player of all time but also because he avoided falling into some of the troubles that a lot of famous people do.Natalie Portman: Not only is she strikingly beautiful but she actually seems to have a brain in her head and isn't alwyas in the tabloids for acting like an idiot. Plus she was the best part of the new and otherwise mostly disappointing Star Wars trilogy. ALso she was in The Professional when she was only 12. Very talented and gorgeous.Stephen King: A great and prolific author whose best novels aren't horrors.Steve Nash: He's a great b-ball player who is humble and unassuming. The Simpsons universe

Music:

U2 - The greatest band ever.Smashing Pumkins - Ironically enough because they remind me of an ex-girlfriend, but mostly just the good parts.Depeche Mode and lots of the 80's big hair and one hit wonder bands, the 80's are forever man.Michael W. Smith is a good Christian musician.Even a little classical music now and then is a good thing. There's a great local band in Austin everyone should check out called Underdriven.Country and rap are to be avoided at all costs.U2 - Mysterious Ways

Movies:

So so many, so I'll try to just list the very best.Sci-Fi / Fantasy -- original Star Wars trilogoy IV-VI, Star Wars III, Forbidden Planet, Aliens, Blackhole, Terminator 2, Spidermans I-III, Dark City, original War of the Worlds, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Star Trek: First Contact, Indiana Jones and the Last CrusadeComedies: Shreks I-III, Napoleon Dynamite, Cars, Better Off Dead, Princess Bride, Spaceballs, the Incredibles, Clerks, Office Space, The Mummuy and The Mummy Returns, Hudson Hawk, Dazed and ConfusedAction: Hunt for Red October, Die Hard I and II, Replacement KillersDrama: Shawshank Redemption, Silence of the Lambs, Fight Club, Taxi Driver, Training Day

Television:

Simpsons - The funniest show ever.Family Guy - Very funny, but a bit to crude for kids. I love the random Star Wars references.Heroes - Its very well written and draws you in so much you can't wait for the next episode as soon as the last one ends.Jericho - It keeps you guessing and wanting more.David Letterman - Very amusing. I like Will It Float and Small Town News.Conan O'Brien - Very funny. I love In The Year 2000.X-Files - Loved the alien plot episodes and teh stand alones where good for a change of pace.Star Trek: The Next Generation - The best of the Star Treks, Picard and Data are awesome.Married With Children - Very funny for a long time. Even if the last few seasons where the prime example of a show that went on for to long.Futurama - Sci-Fi and comedy rolled into one. What's not to like?Seinfeld - Not people you would want to know in real life, but still very funny.Babylon 5 - Very detailed interweaving storyline from the beginning. The way the ended the Shadow War was a bit disappointing though.Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force can be quit funny. But you shoul only watch them in small doses or you'll damage your brain.Boston Legal -- It might seem odd that a drama spun off a comedy, but a crazy old Bill Shatner and a guy nicknamed Hands make sure there's plenty of crazy.Eureka -- A live action sci-fi comedy, what's not to like?King of the Hill -- I sell propane and propane accessories. The Tick

Books:

The Bible - Beacsue it teaches us how to live. That is it teaches us that we should love Jesus with all our heart and mind and soul. And also, that we should love our neighbor as ourself.Star Wars: based on the classic novels, none of that Yuuzhan Vong junk - espically the Thrawn Trilogoy by Timothy ZahnTom Clancy: in particular The Hunt for Red October & Cardinal of the KremlinStephen King: Talisman & Dark Tower Series; The movies Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption, & Stand By Me are all based on stories he wrote, which proves to me that his horror stories are his least interesting ones.H.G. Wells - In particular the War of the Worlds.

Heroes:

Bono - Not only is he a great musician he's also a great huminitarian.George Lucas - He created the best Sci-Fi genre ever.George Washington - He helped found a nation on a set of great ideals.Harrison Ford - A fantastic actor who has a great range and always delivers a rivating performance.Jesus - He's my Lord and Saviour.Michael Jordan - He's the best basketball player of all time.My Dad - He's always been a hard worker who is willing to help others.Pastor Robinson - The pastor at the Lutheran church where I grew up. He was filled with the Spirit and was truely inspiring to listen to.Stephen King - He has an endless imagination and a captivating way of telling stories.Saint Paul - He's a great example of how one who used to oppose the Lord and his followers can be turned into a shining example of how to be a follower of the Lord. An example that others can look to when seeking to turn from the wrong faith and receive forgivenss through God's grace.Saint Peter - He became the rock that set the foundation for the church. Even Peter had doubts and failures along the way but Jesus had faith in him as He does in all of us.Steve Nash - A great basketball player who seems to have remained humble about his success.Tom Clancy - He has created one of the best characters in literature and has demonstrated the importance of research and detail in creating a believable fictional setting.Spider-Man - OK, its a bit silly, but what the heck? Not only does he have cool powers but he often defeats his enemies by out smarting them not out fighting them. Also he struggles with daily life and prevails.Zoey vs Missy
