Emilia Amper

I'm a swedish nyckelharpa player, fiddler, singer and composer who play and make music for nyckelharpa and band (inspired by traditional music, rock, chamber music and pop). I live in Stockholm and study music at the Royal Academy of Music there.With a heart pumping for the nordic traditional music, an education in composing (western classical music) at the conservatory of Trondheim and a great love for funky grooves and kick-ass rock, the result is at the same time both rough and beautiful.I proudly carry the nyckelharpa out in the world and try to brainwash as many as possible on my way, hihi... I have amongst other things been a soloist with the Trondheim Soloists (a Norwegian chamber orchestra) on tour in Norway, Sweden, Belgium and Brazil, Jon Lord from Deep Purple wrote the song 'The Telemann Experiment' for me (I'm on the CD and live DVD 'Beyond the notes', recorded in Germany) and I play on Sissel Kyrkjebø's album "Into paradise".RIGHT NOW: Emilia Amper Band (Emilia, Rolf Hoff Baltzersen, Nils Olav Johansen, Håvard Lund and Helge Andreas Norbakken! Top of the pops!). Absolut Trio (Emilia, Anna Roussel on traverse flute and Jonas Bleckman on cello). Playing with master persian classical singer Bahram Bajelan in the Rumi ensemble. Playing concerts with singer/composer Lise Olden, and playing on her coming debut album. The HEIDRA project (with some of the leading metal musicians in the world: ALf Helge Lund former Lumsk, Gaute Refsnes and Thomas Ovstedal from Cor Scorpii, Marius Olaussen from Åsmegin, Shaun Taylor Steels former My Dying Bride and Heri Joensen from Tyr).
