About Me

Texas born and Tennessee raised, Connie Harrington, a former Art Director, quit her day job completely in 1995 to pursue her songwriting career full-time. Prior to that, she had already garnered several cuts as well as the grand prize in Billboard's Songwriting Contest for her song "If I were."
"I got my first guitar for Christmas when I was thirteen years old along with a John Denver song book. I put my fingers where the dots were and taught myself to play. I immediately began writing my own songs. I was so shy back then that nobody even knew I could play, sing, or especially write. I'd just hide away in my room and work on stuff. I jumped up one day from writing, opened my bedroom door, and half of my family fell on the floor backwards from crowding around my door listening. I never dreamed then that my secret hobby would be my job someday."
Connie's dream job has brought her much success. As one of Nashville's most prolific songwriters, she's had songs recorded in the Country, Pop, and Christian markets. She now has seventeen Number 1 singles to her credit including "Girls Lie Too" (Terri Clark), "Ordinary Life" (Chad Brock), and "Can't Live a Day" (Avalon). She scored top-ten hits with "This Woman Needs," and "Passenger Seat" (both for SheDaisy), and a top-five hit with "My Heart is Lost to You." (Brooks and Dunn). Other collaborations include the hit singles "She Only Smokes When She Drinks" recorded by Joe Nichols, and "If She Were Any Other Woman" recorded by Buddy Jewel.
Among her other accolades, Connie received a Dove Award for "Love Will" (Country Recorded Song of the Year), and has had numerous other Dove Award nominations including Song of the Year, Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, and Inspirational Song of the Year. Some of her recent recordings include cuts by Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney, Rodney Atkins, Terri Clark, SheDaisy, Phil Stacey, The Wreckers, Yolanda Adams, and pop artist Hope Partlow.
In January 2005, Harrington, along with long-time co-writer Tim Nichols, and business manager Rusty Gaston launched their own music publishing company, THIS MUSIC.
Connie Harrington currently resides in Brentwood, TN with her husband Jon Mabe.
