About Me

Welcome to Piping Live!
Glasgow International Piping Festival is now 5years old!! It's on between 11th - 17th August, and will be better than ever! We have many different styles to offer you, from massed pipes and drums to contemporary piping and folk groups, as well as a gaelic evening.
These events occur all over Glasgow, from free events in George Square to the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and The National Piping Centre. We plan our events around the World Pipe Band Championships which are on Saturday 11th August this year, so we hope if you are coming for that - come sooner and enjoy a lot more piping! Also planned on Saturday 17th August is a wild night in the Barrowlands for a full on evening of the best of the new breed of contemporary piping groups.

Band Members: Ok so for band members we have - The National Piping Centre and its staff, all the volunteers who help out (see our website for how to sign up as a volunteer) and all the bands, groups and players who provide the entertainment. Keep checking for this year's line up!
Influences: There are many different piping styles that can be heard at Piping Live. We can offer the very best in traditional Piobaireachd, some of the most talented new young players and those at the very cutting edge of progressive piping. You'll just need to pick the right concert to suit your tastes - or try a little bit of everything!
