Eden's Bridge

The most famous band you've never heard of...

About Me

It is somehow fitting, that Eden's Bridge would be one of the last established artists to get themselves a myspace page. Eden's Bridge has for over ten years, been the kind of band for whom self-promotion has not even been a mystery, merely an irrelevance. With this in mind, it is quite suprising that the band has sold something approaching one million albums and charted in the Billboard World Music Top Ten (USA).
So, it is on this day, the somethingth of February 2007, that I, Richard Lacy (keyboard player of the aforementioned and self-styled laziest band in the world) will be attempting to selflessly brave the dangers of the internet and bring the world a little page here about us.
The extremely short version of how it happened:
EB was formed in 1993 by Sarah Lacy, Richard Lacy and David Bird. We started as a group of songwriters, but the songs we were writing did not fall into any category that would make them easy to place with other artists, so Eden's Bridge (the band) was born as a home for the songs. Jon Large came in to play bass, followed by Terl Bryant on drums. In 1995 the band's first album "Fear No Evil" found it's way onto a useful desk at EMI in Nashville. Someone, somewhere did some paperwork and a modest £3000 changed hands. The band returned to the studio and along with a helping hand from Troy Donockley, the first EMI release was completed. The rest as they say, is history.
The 2002 release of the acclaimed "Isle Of Tides", marked an important point for the band; this was the first album which had been made exactly as the band wanted it to be, with no outside influence.
Here we are now in 2007, as a seven-piece and with a selection of new songs languishing in various files, or as demos on computer hard-drives. I already think that we're writing our best songs to date, but gathering the seven-player momentum takes a while, but I would like to see the band back together in the studio next year.
If you know us from way back, or even if you're finding us for the first time, Do say hello. Thanks for dropping by, whether it was intentional, unintentional, or by my invitation.
THE CHANGING SONG...
From January 2008, one of the songs in our player will be changed on a regular basis; a cursory glance through the iTunes folder revealed that if we changed the song every week, there would be enough material to last nearly four years! Once a week is a bit much for our modest play-count, so I'll do it every few weeks.
Current song:
Breath and Presence. Recorded in March 2005 for Maranatha's New Celtic Series.
A few friends asked if I could allow the linking of our songs to their profiles. I have now ticked the appropriate box, so go ahead; add some diddly-dee to your profile.
By the way...
