Spraoí

Spraoí - ní bheidh ár leithéid ann arís.

About Me

Spraoí have been playing music around Toronto for a number of years. More of a collective than a band the core of the sound is based around the Canadian uilleann piper Kelly Hood, New Zealand accordionist Pat Simmonds and Irish keyboardist Declan O'Doherty. Other projects include Towhead, LOKA, Aunt Jane's Kitchen, the Enoch Kent Band and the Cabbagetown Ceilidh Band.
Pat has recently produced a series of albums for the award winning singer songwriter Jon Brooks and the legendary Scottish folk singer Enoch Kent. He also hosts the radio show "Atlantic Ceilidh" on CIUT 89.5 fm and plays regualr sessions at McCarthy's on Monday nights and at Dora Keogh's every Thursday.
Spraoi initiated the annual St Patrick's Day Celebration of Irish Culture in Toronto, now in it's fifth year having produced a number of sold out shows at Hugh's Room in Toronto.
Oh yeah, it's pronounced SPREE.
Is maith linn Gaeilge, sean-nós, ag casadh ceol agus pionta Guiness anois 's arís.
