beguilingly done -- whatever that means

About Me

Singer of traditional Gaelic, and baroque music who is just not singing enough these days.

Past work includes the ensemble "Puirt a Baroque", and a program of Cape Breton Gaelic songs with the ensemble "La Nef". I sing annually at community events in Cape Breton.

I love to sing with the band, "Spraoi"

As a member of Puirt a Baroque, I sang on the CD "Return of the Wanderer". It was the the group's first recording with vocals and received a *Juno Award nomination* in 1999 for Best Roots & Traditional Album: Group.

We lost honourably to the McGarrigle Sisters, and sat just in front of Rufus Wainwright at the Awards show (the only time that will ever happen).

“…the sprightly clarity of Conn's voice" - Stephen Pedersen, The Halifax Chronicle-Herald Mail-Star

"...their first disc which includes vocals, beguilingly done in Gaelic by singer Stephanie Conn”. - Cliff McGann, Celtic Heritage Magazine
