Atlantic Ceilidh is an hour long weekly radio broadcast which airs Thursdays 7-8pm EST on CIUT 89.5 FM (www.ciut.fm) broadcasting from the campus of the University of Toronto, downtown Toronto. Currently there are no archives but CIUT streams live with iTunes and Real Player.
Atlantic Ceilidh has been on the air for around 14 years with several different hosts during that time. The current incumbent is Pat Simmonds.
The show is dedicated to the traditional musics of Canada, Ireland, Scotland and beyond. Typically a listener could hear Cape Breton waulking songs and fiddle music, archival and contemporary Scottish folk singing, Irish uilleann piping and Asturian gaita, Scandanavian music and Ottawa Valley fiddling and step dancing. Additionally the show is a bilingual affair being presented in both English and Gaelic.
Over the years guests on the show have included Kevin Burke, Martin Hayes and Denis Cahill, Enoch Kent, Sandy MacIntyre, Sean Tyrrell and many more.
Atlantic Ceilidh welcomes submissions from artists and groups anywhere who’d like to get their music on the air in Toronto, Canada with a world wide listenership.

Pat Simmonds is a New Zealand musician currently resident in Toronto where he enjoys playing a weekly informal traditional Irish music session at Dora Keogh’s Pub every Thursday after the show and another at McCarthy’s Irish Pub on Gerard every Monday.
