About Me

I began playing music when I was in grade school. I started playing the saxophone which continued through high school. I then took up guitar for a bit until I finally discovered the mandolin and traditional music during my freshman year in college. I tried majoring in the mandolin but they told my that it wasn't a "recognized, western instrument". So I left. I moved to Wyoming and emmersed myself in the instrument. In 2002 I began playing professionally which has led me to this point. Since then I've been fortunate enough to play and learn with Mike Compton who knows more about traditional music than most anyone alive today. But now I feel that I've gotten enough from traditional music so I can finally discover my own voice. Hence, my new offering of original songs i've written over the past few months.I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
