Due South: Bluesy bluegrass rockabilly sound!

About Me

We don't really want to sound "like" any other group out there. We firmly believe that our unique sound comes from all of our past experiences.
Mr. Bennie Rose has been playing & singing Honky Tonk, Rockabilly and Bluegrass on his old Martin guitar since he was 11 years old. David Thompson has his feet firmly planted in Bill Monroe's bluesy style of mandolin playing and wants to carry that style into the future by bringing the mandolin into some acoustic blues and rockabilly tunes from some of his musical heroes such as: Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Stray Cats; so, if your expecting to hear what you have heard before you may be disappointed. When Bruno Esposito came on board as bass player, we could tell right off that the combination was there. We all became fast friends. Bruno has played jazz, rockabilly, and was most recently with the psychobilly band from Miami: The Van Orsdels .
The bottom line is "WE HAVE FUN" and if we can do a song, and do it well, then it really doesn't matter what genre of music it comes from. So when you hear us, if a song comes to mind that you think would fit our sound, drop us a note and let us know about it!
