Apostles of Bluegrass

About Me

Led by Johnny Roquemore, Creative Loafing Magazine critics' choice "Best Local Singer/Songwriter" in Atlanta, this trio has played all over the South. From the highest-minded church revivals to the lowest honky tonk dives, on television and radio the hard driving bluegrass and humorous original songs consistently amuse their audiences.Georgia native Johnny Roquemore returned from Malibu, California after 30 years of hobnobbing with the bigwigs of music. Dubbed the "Minstrel of Malibu" this singer-songwriter has come home to live on the family farm in Mansfield.Watching Johnny and the Apostles play is fun! "Up beat music and off beat lyrics" claims the L.A. Times. "A deranged backwoods Santa Claus...the new king of the road" says Creative Loafing. Straining the limits of bluegrass the Apostles repertoire contains good music and intelligent composition and therefore may not be suitable for today's listener.
