About Me

I play regular-old guitar and terz guitar in the Little Country Giants - a band featuring Russell Cook, my best bud from way back; his wife, Cameron Federal Cook; and my wife, Julie Evans.Parenthetically - I know you're twisting with anticipation of the following - the terz is a parlor-sized, short scale guitar tuned one and one half steps sharp relative to standard guitar tuning. Therefore, an "E" chord on a standard guitar is a "G" on a terz. Ahhh.......I also have a general civil trial law practice in Northwest Georgia...it's soooo exciting to say it like that.As you will hear if you check out the Little Country Giants either here on my page or on the LCG's MySpace, we play good, old-fashioned southern music. What is it? Well...listen and you'll hear old-timey country, honky-tonk, Texas swing, ragtime, gospel (both white and black), pop, bluegrass, jazz....we're a confused lot. In the end, Russell and Cameron write beautiful songs on which I put too many notes and useless flourishes. Such is the life of a lead guitar player.Oh...I sing, too. Usually only when the crowd is either drunken and raucous (I can communicate with those types a I am known to be proficient in their hoot-and-scream speak) or when the audience exhibits an especial taste for whisky-throated redneck balladiering. We used to have a skinny guy named Dax Rosetti play percussion, sing harmony and produce our records. It seems Dax has been banished to cyberspace as I only now see him on MySpace. Check him out...his songs are beeeyooteeeful. I have heard tale that Dax haunts a monastery in Hampshire.
