Guitarist Pete McCann has been an integral part of the New York City jazz scene for over 17 years. He has three critically acclaimed recordings as a leader: Most Folks (Omnitone), Parable and You Remind Me Of Someone (Palmetto). His music encompasses a wide range of styles from straight-ahead to jazz-rock fusion to avant-garde.
Pete has appeared on over 50 CDs and performed with Kenny Wheeler, Dave Liebman, Lee Konitz, Kenny Garrett, Peter Erskine, Brian Blade, and the Maria Schneider Orchestra. He has performed throughout the US, Canada and Europe from clubs to jazz festivals, musicals, award shows, and even an opera.
McCann received his Bachelors of Music from the University of North Texas and also studied at the Banff School of the Arts. Pete is an adjunct faculty guitar instructor at The New School and City College in New York City. He also teaches at the NYU Summer Guitar Intensive.
