Riley Connell

My name is Riley J. Connell aka Rye Dawg and I am a Professional Recording and Live Sound Engineer with over 17 years experience in the industry. Every thing from albums to voice overs to film soundtrack/scores to tv/radio commercials to live concert sound. My passion is sound, particularly music of all kinds. I started my career as an assistant engineer for Ed Mashal (Recording Engineer for the Eagles) at Hit Factory-Criteria Studios and Quad Radial Studios in Miami, FL. This led to a temporary PA/Assistant MIDI Tech position with Miami record producer Ramone Arcusa, who at the time was producing a Julio Iglesisas album at Hit Factory-Criteria Studios. I was then hired as a staff engineer at New River Studios in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. At New River, I worked on projects that earned three platinum album awards, one gold album award (Skid Row, Jimmy Buffett, Yngwie Malmsteen, Extreme), other projects hailed numerous Ampex Golden Reel Awards, an ADDY Award with Music a la Carte and a Grammy Nomination for best Mexican-American Vocal Album (Juan Gabriel-El Mexico Que Se Nos Fue). Most recently, I worked for Walt Disney Entertainment-East as a live sound engineer, doing everything from sound design, sound system installation to mixing live shows and special events. During my tenure at Disney, I started Rye Dawg Productions. Rye Dawg was started in the fall of 2001 with one client doing a four song demo. That first client is now becoming very successful working off broadway in NYC and her craft just gets better and better. Since that first simple session, Rye Dawg has grown and has done a lot of vocal demos, voice overs, music and sound fx tracks. Mostly for actors/singers working on their professional reels and independent productions. Rye Dawg Productions is commited to providing you with a high quality product. Thank God, because I grew up listening to some of the greatest music ever produced. Because of that exposure at such an early age, I longed to be a musician and eventually an engineer and producer. My most passionate interests, other than music, include my daughters, movies, white water rafting, biking, walking, boating, fishing and of course my family and friends. I have been lucky enough to travel all over the United States and England and I look forward to continuing my journeys throughout the world and recording music of all types.Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
