I am a published romance writer who has written at least since High School...though, if you ask my mom, I've always had imaginary friends that I went on cool adventures with.
I wrote my first novel in 9th grade....a futuristic sci-fi with romantic elements. My first straight out romance was written 22 or so years ago and was rejected. I then decided to play the role of wife and mother for a couple of decades.
I finished my next completed novel in 2002. Then I went to a creative writing class at San Jacinto Community College and learned I didn't know how to write. Since then, I've completed two more novels and learned that I like to write short stories, which is what I'm published in. I recently sold my first novella, 25,000 words, the longest piece I've sold.
I write both contemporaries (under M. J. Sager) and historicals (under Anna Kathryn Lanier – www.myspace.com/aklanier).
My current works in progress are another full length novel and a novella, as well as a couple of short stories.
In my life outside of writing, I attend college, where I'm working on a double degree: history and education. I have two grown daughters, one grandson, a new granddaughter and another grandchild on the way.
