On Writing, Racing, and Everything In Between

About Me

I'm an author of historical romance novels published by Zebra Books. Visit my web site at www.KristinaCook.com .

COMING JUNE 2007--Watch the teaser now by clicking on the arrow below!

Available now!

I'm also an alumni of The University of Southern Mississippi, where I was a member of Phi Mu sorority.

And lastly, I'm a big NASCAR fan--go, Tony Stewart!

My Interests

Writing, reading, movies, traveling, NASCAR.

I'd like to meet:

Hmmm....Well, purely for the celebrity-crush factor that would be (in random order)...Colin Firth, Hayden Christensen, Colin Farrell, Ryan Gosling, Hugh Dancy, and John Krasinski. Wait, does chatting with Colin Firth for five minutes after an advance movie screening count as meeting him?! If so, cross that one off my list!

Literary speaking, I'd love to chat with J.K. Rowling and Stephen King--his book "On Writing" was by FAR the best book about the craft of writing I've ever had the pleasure to read.

And I'd LOVE to meet my favorite NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart!!!!

And here on MySpace, I'd love to meet anyone who shares *any* of my many interests!

Music:

Right now I'm listening to a lot of Beethoven's piano sonatas while I write--or the Pride & Prejudice soundtrack. I'm also a big fan of 80's music--how did I survive before XM radio?! My faves...Prince, Duran Duran, U2, among others. For more recent stuff, I like Maroon 5, ColdPlay, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Beck, and other random stuff.

Movies:

Gone With The Wind, Pride and Prejudice (especially the BBC version with Colin Firth), Star Wars (all of 'em, even the new ones!), Lord of the Rings, The Notebook, The New World.

Television:

The Office, LOST, and Big Love. Oh, and As The World Turns, but just to watch my favorite Aussie, Paul Leyden (Leyden fans, be sure to check out my pics!).

Books:

My all-time favorites include: Gone With The Wind, Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Jane Eyre, The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn, and Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Other favorite authors: Diana Gabaldon, Jill Barnett, Judith McNaught, Mary Balogh, Eloisa James, Teresa Madeiros, Susan Elizabeth Philips, and Pamela Britton.

I also love everything written by my talented critique partner, Charlotte Featherstone , or by my fellow Romance Unleashed authors. (Click the links for more information!)

And here's my own booklist:

Monday Post-Race Blues...
