About Me

Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Autumn Love

I'm a Proud Army Wife to an outstanding soldier and the mother to two wonderful kids! I come from a long lineage of military. Most of the men in my family have served in the Armed Forces in one capacity or another. I was the first woman in our family to serve. I was in the Army and served for 8 years. I now continue to serve as an Army Wife. I must say that this tour of duty is much more difficult. LOL My family history is Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and Spanish. Wow, what a combo, huh? I've been doing research on my Scottish/Irish/Welsh family. I'm from the Marshall family, which puts me in the Clan Keith...the Price family, which is Welsh...and the McDaniel family, which is Irish. I'll post more when I know where the families lived in these countries. My husband's family comes from the Clan Gunn. He is truly my modern day Highland Warrior! Now for those who have an interested in Clan histories. It is said that the Clan Keith and the Clan Gunn were at war with each other over a broken betrothal. Many horrible deaths from both clans occured because of this feud. I would imagine there are a few Keiths and Gunns rolling over in their graves right now over Tony and my marriage! A joining of the clans. Talk about the basis for a romance novel! We love Pembroke Welsh Corgis! Our puppy Nina was born on May 16, 2007. She is such a sweetheart! She loves to give kisses to everyone! LOL You can go to my Picture Gallery to see a few pictures of her. Legend has it that the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is an "enchanted" dog. It is said they were used by the fairies and elves of Wales to pull fairy coaches, work fairy cattle, and serve as a steed for the fairy warriors. Even today those people with keen eyes and understanding hearts may see the marks of the "fairy saddle" in the coat over the shoulders.

My Interests

I have so many interests! I love reading, cooking/baking, reading, traveling, reading, dancing, reading, singing, reading, gardening, reading, painting, reading, wine tasting, reading, movies, and oh yes...reading! ;-) My livingroom is looking more and more like a library every day! My favorite books have Scottish themes (ancient to contemporary) and Regency Romance (thank you Jane Austen). Yes, I said it. I like to read romance novels. Have I mentioned that I'm a hopeless romantic? LOL To pass my time while my husband is away, I work part-time at a Used Book Store and love it!!!! (Go Figure!) There is just something magical and relaxing about being around all those books. I'm one of those strange people who love the smell of old books. This is the castle I have a slight obsession with. Dunnottar Castle in Scotland. Ok, so I come by it honest. Dunnottar Castle at one time belonged to the Keith family. Maybe once upon a time, I was there. (hmmmmmm Something to think about.)

I'd like to meet:

The actors/actresses/celebs that I would love to meet are: Gerard Butler, Sean Connery, David O'Hara, Colin Firth, Clive Owen, Christian Bale, Alan Rickman, Liam Neeson, Gabriel Byrne, Adrian Paul, Rufus Sewell, Matthew MacFadyen, Michael Shanks from Stargate SG1, Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, and Maggie Smith. I'd also like to meet some of my favorite authors: Karen Marie Moning, Janet Chapman, Diana Gabaldon, Julia London, Hannah Howell, Laura Lee Guhrke, Lisa Kleypas, Gayle Callen, Debra Mullins, and many others!

Music:

"Music is the heartbeat of life!" I love listening to music. I'm even found to sing along from time to time! Ok, all the time! LOL I mainly listen to Celtic Music, Rock, and Contemporary Christian. A few of my favorite artists are Clannad, Loreena McKennitt, Enya, Chieftans, David Arkenstone Creed, Lifehouse, U2, Journey, Foreigner, and other various 80's Bands. (Forgive me...I grew up in the Eighties!) MercyMe, Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Third Day, Caedmon's Call, Hillsong United, Plumb, and Steven Curtis Chapman. Of course this list could go on and on.

..
Add to My Profile | More Videos I'm a romantic at heart. I love the typical chic-flicks. Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Tristan and Isolde, The Phantom of the Opera (w/Gerard Butler), The Lake House, Kate and Leopold, The Holiday, and Sleepless in Seattle. But then I also like a comedy. The Princess Bride, Monty Python's Holy Grail, So I Married An Axe Murderer, The Private Eyes, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, and A Night at the Museum. I'm also a sucker for a good period movie...Rob Roy, King Arthur, and Kingdom of Heaven. Then there is Braveheart...need I say more?

Television:

I read more than I watch TV, however thanks to modern technology and Tivo, I can watch the shows I like to at my leisure. Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Ghost Hunters, Monk, Psych, Cold Case, Dead Like Me, Stargate SG1 (thanks to my darling husband), Most Haunted, and various travel & cooking shows.

Books:

The Holy Bible above all other books. I am a true romantic. Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite book. I do enjoy reading romance. Kiss of the Highlander and Spell of the Highlander - Karen Marie Moning. (Anything by KMM is excellent! She is so talented!) Secrets of a Summer Night, It Happened One Autumn, Devil in Winter, and Scandal in Spring - Lisa Kleypas...Charming the Highlander, Loving the Highlander, or any other book by Janet Chapman, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Harry Potter Series, Chronicles of Narnia Series...I could continue to go on and on. I even enjoy reading the children's books with my two kids! It's been wonderful getting to read some of the books that I grew up with again! Where the Red Fern Grows, Secret Garden, How to Eat Fried Worms, Little House books, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, The House with the Clock In It's Walls, Charlotte's Web, The Trumpeter Swan...way too many to list here! LOL

Heroes:

To the men in my family who are over there. My Dearest Tony...You are truly my modern day Highland warrior. You are loved, cherished, and desired. I miss your kisses. I miss your touch. Please stay safe, and I'll be right here waiting for your return. To Jon, Michael and Dustin, I love you. I love you. I love you. Thank you for what you do. I'm proud of you! You guys are so important to us. Stay safe and I'll see you when you get home. I'll have the grill going with some pork steaks! :)
