"FAST-PACED...A FUN TALE"
By Harriet Klausner
In Austin, Texas, Maggie Graham loves everything about historical Scotland; Liam Neeson of Rob Roy fame is her hero. Thus she is euphoric when she receives the letter from Dr. Alexander that she has been accepted to join an archeological dig near Drymen in the Scottish Highlands.
At the site, Maggie finds a tri-spiral, or triskele, carved into the floor of the ancient cairn. The triskele sends her back in time to 1711 at an importune moment. She drops into the midst of a battle between the forces of Quinn McIntyre and those of the Duke of Montrose. Quinn saves her life taking her to his friend, Ian McGregor for safekeeping.
However, when Montrose captures McGregor, Quinn vows to free his friend; Maggie wants to help. Their efforts fail leaving Quinn mortally wounded and McGregor slated for execution. Maggie takes her beloved back to the future where he can get medical treatment that will save his life; she knows they will go back because McGregor still needs rescuing.
This back and forth entertaining time travel romance is a fun tale starring a courageous heroine who has romanticized the Scottish legendary heroes so much so that Quinn wonders if he can measure up to her ideal. Fast-paced fans will enjoy the romance between the modern day starry eyed Texan and her HIGHLAND ROGUE.

"A COMPLETE ESCAPE FROM ORDINARY LIFE"
HIGHLAND ROGUE by Tess Mallory is a well-written, entertaining tale about a woman who has given up a great deal of her own life to care for others, but who is finally getting a chance to fulfill her own dreams and explore her hidden desires. Maggie's younger sisters, who she's cared for since they lost their parents, and her close friend set up an archaeological vacation for her as a birthday surprise. She goes to the Scottish dig, and finds she's more interested in the work than the dreamy instructor. But when she reads some ancient words and is transported back in time, she meets a man who makes her heart beat double time. Out of time, will Maggie find love in the past?
There's not a lot more to say about this tale without giving a lot of it away. There really are few surprises in this, but the story, although a familiar one, is told with great attention to detail and fun, often amusing, dialogue. I very much enjoyed reading this. It was a complete escape from ordinary life and isn't that one of the greatest joys of reading?

"TIME-TRAVEL TO THE HIGHLANDS WAS NEVER SO MUCH FUN."
By Mandy Burns
In the hills of Scotland, Quinn MacIntyre and Ian MacGregor are thieves stealing from the rich in the name of "The Piper." One fateful night, their ruse does not work out as planned, so running becomes their only option. Unfortunately, a beautiful siren standing in the middle of the road startles Quinn's horse. This gives their pursuers just enough time to catch Ian. Quinn finds himself saving the mysterious woman while trying to find a way to rescue his friend and brother.
As a history teacher, Maggie Graham's fascination with the Scottish Highlands is understandable and slightly on the obsessive side. To her delight, her sisters and best friend surprise her with a trip to her beloved Scotland to participate in an archaeological site located in the Highlands. During her stay, Maggie ventures to the site and starts to figure out some of the sayings left long ago when she begins to feel funny. The next thing she knows, she's about to be run over by a horse and rider.
Tess Mallory's time-travel romance, HIGHLAND ROGUE, is humorous, witty and absolutely fun. As always, between the lovable characters and their loyalty to one another, you won't want to put the book down. This is definitely a must-read.
