Children of the Moon Series
Award winning author Lucy Monroe sold her first book in September of 2002. Since then she has sold more than 30 books to three publishers and hit national bestsellers lists in the US and England. She's a passionate devotee to the romance genre and loves talking writing, the industry and books with other writers as well as readers. Her highly charged, sensual stories touch on the realities of life while giving the reader a fantasy story not easily forgotten. Whether it's a passionate Harlequin Presents, a sexy single title for Kensington or a steamy historical or paranormal for Berkley, Lucy's books transport her readers to a special place where the heart rules and love conquers all.

My Interests

I love to read, just almost as much as I love to write and I have tons of autobuy authors. I adore my family and spend lots of time with them, including my extended family. But my favorite nonwriting activity is to travel, particularly with my dh and our teens.

I'd like to meet:

Linda Howard, Christine Feehan, Mother Theresa (figure that will happen in Heaven), the creator of Stargate: SG1 (brilliant mind that), Donna Hayes (Pres of Harlequin - another brilliant mind), my mom's fourth grade teacher...the list could go on and on and on. So, um...maybe I'll stop. :)

Music:

I like all sorts of music. It's a huge source of inspiration and help with focus for my writing as well.

Movies:

My current faves are Marilyn Hotchkiss Class of Ballroom Dance and Take the Lead. Yep, there's a theme here...I really like movies with dance, or sports movies, some action adventure and some romance (but only if it's done right - I'm picky, being a romance author).

Television:

I watch two shows, Stargate: SG1 and Psych. Though I have Monk on DVD and plan to watch it and The Pretender when SG1 is in re-runs.

Books:

Moon Awakening Book Teaser...

Coming Soon

Moon Awakening ~ February 2007

Heroes:

There are no heroes I like better than the ones I write about, probably because they all have little bits of my dh in them. :) He still makes me absolutely melt after almost two decades together. Mercenary Trilogy

Where do you get your ideas? Part IV

I think most people mean, "Where do you get your ideas for the plot of the book?" when they ask the question.  I think maybe because a lot of people assume the plot comes first.  And ...

It's all in the execution...

That's one of the HM&B editors' favorite sayings. They'll get asked about this plot idea and that plot idea, or this hero or that heroine and whether or not it could work for a line and more often...

Intriguing Books

I love to read. Romance and non-fiction mostly, but I enjoy mystery, some sci fi and even a western or two on occasion. One of my favorite things about reading is how one book can lead to another. You...
