Jacquie Rogers

2006 PEARL Award Winner-- Best Short Story

About Me

Welcome to my page. I'm Jacquie Rogers , romance author, custodian, cook, gardener, and reader of all things fae. I'd love for you to visit my website, too: http://www.jacquierogers.com .
and Keely's myspace page .

Who's Keely?
A know-it-all faery, star of Faery Good Advice, and now star of her own book, which we'll talk about later; otherwise, she'll want to take over the whole show. She's a royal pain in the patootie because her story was nominated for a RIO Award for Excellence:
. . . and she won the 2006 PEARL Award ! Gah! There'll be no living with her now. :sigh:
Winner 2006 PEARL
ParaNormal Excellence Award in Romantic Literature
Faery Good Advice for Best Short Story/Novella
Faery Good Advice is a short story in No Law Against Love published by Highland Press to help fight breast cancer. PEARL Co-winner was one of my favorite stories, DeborahAnne MacGillivray's Double, Double, Toil & Trouble, also in No Law Against Love .
Blue Moon Enchantment
Nominated for 2006 PEARL
ParaNormal Excellence Award in Romantic Literature

I love books! Reading, reading, reading. So naturally I ended up writing, too. To read more about me, go to my bio on my website .
My first book, titled Faery Special Romances , is a May 2007 release from Highland Press . This anthology is a little different--a collection of stories, each of which is a romance, but all show the maturation of Keely from the year 1199 AD until the present time. She's a little like Jane Austen's Emma, who thinks she knows the perfect match for everyone, but she's always wrong!
Royalties will go to the Children's Tumor Foundation , ending neurofibromatosis through research.

Books:

OMG, you actually expect me to answer this? There isn't enough room! I love romance novels and when I'm not writing, read about one book a day. Honestly, I love so many of them that I couldn't think of a single title. Then again, I'm terrible with names and/or titles anyway. I also read fantasy, westerns, and the occasional mystery. Fantasy is my main interest right now and I probably read as many of them as I do romances, these days. When I have time to read!

I also enjoy Greek mythology, and probably my favorite book of all time is A King Must Die by Mary Renault.

Heroes:

First and foremost
my husband

Mark Rogers

also:
Ada Byron King, Countess of Lovelace is fascinating--a very intelligent woman who wrote the first computer programming language (Ada). You can read more about Lord Byron's daughter here

As for authors, I love Roberta Gellis's Bull God and Thrice Bound. I love her mystery series, too. What a wonderful writer, and I'm amazed at her body of work. She's a very intelligent lady and conversant on nearly any subject.
