Enjoy history and love to write? The Westridge School Renaissance Club is holding a short story contest to help raise money for the Renaissance Entertainers, Services, and Crafters United Foundation ( RESCU ), and we need your entry now.
First through third place will win up to $100 in cash, and all winning pieces receive potential publication in Renaissance-themed short story anthology
that will help the club raise money for the RESCU.
What do we mean by Renaissance-themed? Well, anything really, as long as it can be linked to the Renaissance in some way - any way, whether it's set in the Renaissance period or the medieval times just before, or if it's about the Renaissance faires, or the people involved in them or even if it's set in a Renaissance-like fantasy alternate universe. If it's connected in any way to the Renaissance, anything goes!
So if you have the perfect tale up your sleeves, it's time to set those quills to work and start putting it down on paper. For more information about RenPen and how to enter, check out our website at www.renclubrenpen.com .
But don't wait too long for inspiration -
the deadline is September 30th!
The RenClub is not affiliated with the RESCU. All entry fees and potential profits from books are going
to be donated to the RESCU , but the Foundation does not endorse either the contest or the anthology.
We simply want to raise money for a cause we feel strongly about - and, being regular faire-goers, we thought
it time to give something back to the community that has given us so many hours of enjoyment. The publishers
and authors or the ideas that will be contained in the anthology will not represent the Foundation or its views.
