About Me

My Peculiar Aristocratic Title is:
Venerable Lord Capt. Henry Morgan the Elegant of Witchampton Under Buzzard
Get your Peculiar Aristocratic Title
I work in the film industry as a Producer / Director. But I have filled other positions on film crews such as Fight Director, Art Director, Set dresser, Costumer, Property Master, Actor. I currently own a private academy teaching Acting for Film and TV. I am living in Mpls, MN but I am open to the idea of moving anywhere I can make a living doing my craft. And I am always willing to travel to do a gig.
To pass my time and provide entertainment I perform as Captain Henry Morgan Privateer. (I am very into Pirates and Privateers.) I have spent a great deal of time working with living history groups as well.
Many people ask why are you playing Captain Morgan you look nothing like him? Oh you sad, sad, little addle brained people...Tsk - tsk - tsk. I AIN"T THAT NANCY-BOY ON THE BOTTLE! But I do look a fair deal like ol' Harry himself. Have a look and see fer yer selves.
Apparently I'm not the only one that thinks so.
This image is the Admiral Morgan card from Wizkids Pirates of the Caribbean Game. Hmmm now don't he look familiar...
I don't do this alone I have a fantastic Crew and we are supported by a group called the Muses they are the Va Va Va Voom to our big Boom Boom Boom, we love them and they love us. This is not everyone our full crew is over fifteen now and there are more muses too. but these are the core Pirates and some of the muses.
I am still adjusing to the fact that I am divorced from the love of my life. I found myself truly lost for the first time in so many years. I have no memory of when I had ever, felt like this before. So when I should be enjoying life, I find I am still just trying to understand it, and find my way in it again. But as the French would say C'est la vie!(such is life!).
Along with my film work and as a way of freeing the clutter of my mind I write, I actually write a great deal. I have written several novels a great many screenplays and an unknown number of short stories, poems, and essays. I had not pursued publishing yet, as like many artists I am not satisfied with them yet. Who can say when the child is ready to leave the nest, they will fly when they are ready.
This just in I am ready and willing to let some of my work out I will be releasing it soon through Huntly Press...A book of poetry and insights on love and loss. Writing this book helped me heal my broken heart and I hope that the thoughts and words within it will be able to help others as well.
I actually write in many genres, and find writing to be very liberating though my method is most unorthodox, as I write with out outlines or curves. Rather I sort of receive the stories into my head and write what I see in my mind. Sort of like channeling them its as though they are real events that I am witnessing. It's very different I know but it's the way I work.
Maybe this is just my way of keeping the family trade alive. My grandfather was a writer, and his mothers uncle was rather well know, for writing too. He was Ralph Waldo Emerson, my great great grand uncle.
"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us......Ralph Waldo Emerson."
I see myself as an artist I paint, sculpt, draw, etc. I love all art in it's own way but there are some things I like better than others.
Art is the soul of a people, and a gift to our descendants.
An enlightened society should provide for its artists as it would its own children. For as are their children, the artists are a gift from above to provide light and peace in the souls of the many from the hands of the few. But be careful all that is carved dipped and splattered upon the canvas is not art. Art should, yes evoke thought and speech, but not hate and vengeance.
For that one puts down the brush or the pen and picks up the Rapier and Dagger to carve in a new manor the way of the warrior.

My Interests

History, Art, When I say Art Painting, Sculpting, Drawing with Charcoal Pencil and Pen and Ink.

Music, Theater, Film, Acting, Hollywood in the 30's and 40's.

I love ballet, Opera, and all forms of expression of movement and grace, as in gymnastics and figure skating, but I also include diving and swimming in that also. Sword work falls in there too. I teach the sword and love to fight. Grace beauty, line and form it all relates to ART.

England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Jamaica, Pirates, Privateers, Tall Ships, These are the things that move me, they ingnite the imagination and set my soul to wandering.

I'd like to meet:

Wow I'd like to meet? Well on the work side a whole list or you could say the whole "A"-list of people in my industry. Yeah I have worked in an industry for twenty years and though I have met some great people there are so many more that I haven’t... Yet! Most importantly I would like to meet some one that could fill the hole in my heart and help to relight the light in my soul...Yeah that would be great.

Music:

All types...No Really I like all music Open your mind and listen to the sounds of other cultures and other generations. If you do this you will learn about the people of our world. And you will learn to like them. For the rhythm in their hearts is the beat of the nation and their time.

But these are some of the Myspace locals that I love to listen to and you might want to check them out.

Dayna Wolter

someone that Angels aspire to be like when it comes to singing. You can find her singing in Shakespeare's Love Child.

Lojo Russo

Lojo has been a good friend of mine for many years and holds the rank of first mate on board my ship whenever she is aboard that is, which is not very often as she is want to tour the countryside singing for her supper instead of taking it at swords point like an honest Pirate. But who can complain when music like her's pours out. Celtic Jazz Funk is the best way to describe her solo or in the company of others you don't want to miss her music

Karen Cleary

A beautiful jazzy folk singer from Liverpool that I stumbled upon. She also often plays in Argentina case you are down there but no matter where you are she is worth your time to listen to.

Sam Letts

A sweet singer from the midlands that is known to sing a saucy pirate song from time to time and has captured this pirates fancy more than once. She too deserves your ear from time to time.

The Ditty Bops

What can I say these girls are just too much fun!

Mike Kotch

Mike and his amazing bagpipes WOW!. Now I know what your thinking. But these aren't your grand da's pipes this lad can play anything. I first met Mike when he was a young 16 year old recruit in our Scottish Pike company. He got some pipes and with in a week was blowing us away with renditions of the "Imperial March" from Star Wars and TV theme songs all picked up by ear. He now has an album out and is also worth your time.

All of these musicians and singers can be found on myspace music take a listen add them from time to time to your profiles and help to educate the world on great music.

Movies:

Too many to list I'm a film buff all genres everything from silent to Internet flicks, It is about the best media for story telling ever.

I like many different Directors all for different reasons and many different DP's Hell some films are just great because of art direction, or other departments. Some because of who is in them and some because of when or where they are set.

SO to say that this one film is my favorite is an injustice to many other great films that I love so, I love them all....

Ok Ishtar and Gili aside Sorry Dustin and warren and sorry JLo and Ben. (Side note:)I got to see Ishtar again the other day (Oh Boy), and Ah well, it still sucks. Yep nothing there, thought maybe I'm older now, you know maybe I'd get it this time around. Nope nada zilch big old goose egg. What Were They Thinking?

Television:

Well Lets just say today’s TV SUCKS for the most part. Reality Crap has got to go! There are some great shows that show promise but I'm sure the Execs in LA will find them and Fuck them up or destroy them. It seems to be their way.
At the risk of turning a spot light on them and alerting the execs, these shows are: Battlestar Galactica, Dr. who, CSI (the one set in Vegas) not the oters, Life on Mars (British and a very good cop show), Jericho, Heroes, The lost room (a mini series but worth the time), There is good writing in Stargate and Stargate Atlantis but they are nearing the end of their course I think, Monk, 4400, Deadzone.
If you notice there is a theme here All of these shows have good or great writing, strong characters, and or driven plots. Hollywood STOP Dumbing down your shit and learn from these shows! Another comminality I think most of these are made in Canada or Britain, very few in America...That's sad.

Books:

Classics, Hey what can I say I love to read great books. I love to collect books and I enjoy writing books. But I also like a good paperback Sci-fi novel too.

Do me a favor and while doing so you will also be doing a favor for the next generation. Take some time out of your life to read to a child today. If we all took time to read to our kids the world would be a better place. Teach them the magic of books and encourage them to read, and to read alot. This is one of the things I miss the most since my divorce reading to my kids and having them read to me.

Heroes:

Errol Flynn, Douglas Fairbanks Sr. & Jr., Tyrone Power, Stewart Granger, Maureen O'Hara, Alan Hale Sr., The Duke, King Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I, Mary Queen of Scots, Sir Henry Morgan.

My score on The Who Would You Be in 1400 AD Test :

The Cardinal
(You scored 68% Cardinal, 20% Monk, 29% Lady, and 37% Knight!)

You are the real power behind the throne. No one dares dispute or refuse you. Which is good because that's how you get things done. You are also, however, completely corrupt and highly immoral. This doesn't bother you in the least as you lounge around your rich comfortable surroundings, reveling in wealth and authority.
