About Me

Underground film sensation Giuseppe Andrews (Detroit Rock City, Cabin Fever) plays a sexually confused, half-Latino, speed-dealer who loses his grasp on reality and plunges into a downward spiral through the streets of San Francisco to Los Angeles where, sleep-deprived and hallucinogenic, he is forced to do battle with his past before he can find peace in the present.

DVD AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE NOW!

"A double-whammy discovery for writer-producer-director Johnson and for his star, Giuseppe Andrews. It is a harrowing yet illuminating odyssey driven by an impassioned, confident filmmaker and a young actor of equal resources and daring...darkly vital and poetic."

- Kevin Thomas, Los Angeles Times

"Compulsively viewable...San Francisco hasn't felt so ominous since Richard Lester's 'Petulia'... Johnson mixes film and video formats to superior and nerve-rending effect, and his taste for run-and-gun scenes produces some disgusting but choice moments...Andrews gives body and soul to the role in ways that recall the daring of Al Pacino in 'Panic in Needle Park.'"

- Robert Koehler, Variety

Movies:

Werner Herzog: Strozek, Signs of Life, Kaspar Hauser, Land of Silence and Darkness, Grizzly Man, Aguirre - The Wrath of God, La Soufriere, Even Dwarfs Started Small, etc., etc.
Roger Ebert on Werner Herzog (my sentiments exactly):
"Herzog by his example gave me a model for the film artist: fearless, driven by his subjects, indifferent to commercial considerations, trusting his audience to follow him anywhere. In the 38 years since I saw my first Herzog film, after an outpouring of some 50 features and documentaries, he has never created a single film that is compromised, shameful, made for pragmatic reasons or uninteresting. Even his failures are spectacular."

John Cassavetes: Woman Under the Influence, Love Streams, Faces, Minnie & Moscowitz, Shadows, etc. etc.

Roman Polanski: The Tenant, Cul de Sac, Repulsion, Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown

Alexander Paine: Sideways, About Schmidt, Election

Mike Leigh: Life is Sweet, Naked, Secrets & Lies

Hal Ashby: Harold & Maude, Coming Home, Being There, Shampoo, The Last Detail

Godard: Breathless, Contempt
