In this section I will be talking in the third person about how I’m well awesome and properly big time.
You heard me, not only will I be bragging, but I’ll be doing it whilst referring to my self as an entirely separate entity. I am utterly convinced that this is a well cool thing to do and not at all the behaviour of a self aggrandizing fucktard:
Slam champion Byron Vincent was (poorly) educated within the in the cloying conurbation of various northern sink estates. His flowery name and love of language ensured that his journey was a challenging one. Never a defeatist he fought back with poetry. This was a terrible strategy and he regularly got his head kicked in.
With poems such as Kevin’s an ‘erbert and Never buy drugs at a festival amongst his repertoire Byron’s subversive brand of barking doggerel has taken the UK poetry scene by storm and kicked it until it’s handed over it’s wallet.
Byron is a regular at many of the UK’s most prestigious music and literary events including, Cheltenham festival of literature, Oxford literature festival, Glastonbury festival of performing arts, Latitude festival and Bristol Poetry festival. He has performed at venues as diverse as London’s Whitechapel gallery and Leeds /Reading festival’s alternative stage. He has appeared on BBC 3’s the verb alongside Roger Mcgough and Ian McMillan and radio 4's Bespoken Word. He has shared the bill with such luminaries as John Cooper Clarke, John Hegley, Simon Armitage and Patti Smith. He is currently in the throws of preparing for three collaborative national tours as well as being involved in numerous live literature, writing, film and radio projects.
“Byron Vincent was born to be a poet. A consummate performer, achingly funny, He’s the brightest new star on the block. Heidi Stephenson – Apples and snakes.
“Like a bad ass version of Roger McGough” “He’s clever, witty, a cut above” Rosemary Dun, Big Mouth poetry.
“Looks and sounds like he could easily of stumbled off an Artic Monkeys tour bus” Bristol Evening Post”
“Hilarious” BBCi
