About Me

Hi, my name's Tim Clare.
I'm a writer, performance poet and musician. I do gigs all over the UK. My first book, We Can't All Be Astronauts , is out now from Ebury Press. It's about dreams, thwarted ambition, and my last-ditch attempt to be a star. My Dad laughed at the people 'randomly dancing' in the lower window. We'll see if he's still laughing when he reads what I've written about him. No, that's a joke. I have wonderful parents. Over the years they've been a continual and unfailing source of money.
Other cool stuff I have done: I've written for the Guardian, the Independent and the Times, I presented the Channel 4 series 'How To Get A Book Deal', I've appeared on BBC2, Radio 1, 2 and 6, and I've performed at lots of festivals including Glastonbury, Leeds and Reading, and Latitude.

If you'd like to book me for a gig, get in touch. If you'd just like to say hello, get in touch too. Especially get in touch if you have an awesome cake or pie recipe to share.
Here is a music video made by Line & A Dot for my song, 'The Girl From Donkey Kong':
Here is another video, featuring my rendition of 'Favourite Things':
I have so been a resident at a regular night in London called Homework. Here are some bits and pieces from the preview of our latest show about the blurry lines between real life and video games, called Infinite Lives:
