Faroe Islands - The Ocean Castle
In Faroese poetry, the Faroe Islands are sometimes referred to as “Havborgin” the Ocean Castle. And approaching the islands on a clear day, they do look like a steep Castle rising in the middle of the waist ocean.

And this Ocean Castle is unique in many ways:
It is one of the most remote places in Europe
It has the highest headland in the World
It has cool summers but mild winters
It has appr. 280 rainy or cloudy days a year
It is almost bald, very few trees
It has one of the oldest parliaments in Europe
It has the smallest official language in Europe
It has one of the smallest capitals in Europe
It has the one and only bridge across the Atlantic Ocean
It has no army
It has the highest fertility rate in Europe
It has very relaxed people; everything can wait until tomorrow
Additions and/or corrections welcome.........
