Southern Stars was a project set up to raise money for the setting up of a community radio station in the Charleville area covering parts of North Cork and South Limerick. The station will be called BCR (Ballyhoura Community Radio) and we want this to work for us. Of course there is plenty of Moolah needed to run a station and a CD is a good start. All the artists volunteered their time and material to the CD. It also gave many of the artists a chance they never had - to record a song. The CD was made by Brian O'Reilly at Studio Fiona in Fermoy. Should anyone wish to support us you can purchase the CD by clicking on 'Mail' or by phoning 086 8219672 and we will post the CD for €12 (€10 for the CD and €2 for Post & Packaging). Not bad for 22 songs of all types from the local talent (not just pretty faces!). Your support is greatly welcomed.Southern Stars are from North Cork and South Limerick (with some blow-ins!) including the Cahirmee Singers, Hugh McMonagle, Muireann Holly, Johnny Donegan, Bernadette Creagh-Dick, Tommy Gammell, Therese Walsh-Galligan, Allow Ceili Band, Booley House Feat, Bernadette Browne, Jim Foley, Linda Buckley, Ken Wheeler, the Foley Brothers, Marcella Costello, Shaun O’Dowd and Hanora, Dan Noonan, Johnny Barrett, Sharon Hogan, Willie Relihan, Kevin Owens and the Chosen Few.
