BenSem, Pontypridd based rock-pop band, formed to showcase the emotional song writing talents of troubled artist Craig Semmens. With his band he travels around Wales and the UK under the name BenSem. Who is BenSem? Bensem is the joining of Ben and Sem: Sems, a broken spirit in his struggle through hard times, some years ago created Ben, someone he felt could give him the strength in opening a gateway to a more dimensionally textured artistic persona he had been desperately seeking.Sems nurtured his creative streak from a young age in writing poetry and art. At seventeen he turned to music through guitar (the first guitar attempt became fuel for a fire). He began writing songs, but failed to realize that this was what he was destined to do - the start of a long journey (but with more hard times to come). BenSem is supported by his band with childhood friend and guitarist Pete Rawbone, a creative back bone for Sems in his long years of song writing. The band is completed with musicians Ade Jones on bass and Kev Cook on drums. Together the unit that is BenSem has been creating a stir in the music scene with high-sights set for the future. Soon everyone will hear the deep songs and unique sound of BenSem.
