About Me

Úna MacLochlainn is a 22 year old singer-songwriter from New Inn, Co. Galway. Her debut album, Willow Tree recieved rave reviews with critics comparing her laser-sharp perspective and voice to a tradition reaching all the way back to Joni Mitchell and Carole King. Úna is no stranger to music, having grown up surrounded by it, she had her first violin lesson at the age of 3 and is now a multi-instrumentalist, providing all the instrumental accompaniment for her own album, playin piano, guitar, violin, cello, and viola and singing. Her signatire style exudes hints of jazz, folk and blues. Love, loss and parting premeate her haunting, compelling, music which makes you stop and listen. Una has performed as support act to Sharon Shannon, Mary Coughlan and Don Baker and has had people such as song-writer Johnny Duhan describe her as 'a voice to be reckoned with'. Siobhan Long of The Times 'Ticket' magazine described her as a 'bird in full flight'.‘Willow Tree’ album available from www.zhivagomusic.ie
