About Me

My name is Polly and, although I don’t like the stereotype, I’m a singer/songwriter. I’ve been writing songs for a year or two and started gigging in the summer of 2007.
I was really lucky in getting some early radio play from Adam Walton on Radio 1 Wales “At just 16 years of age, I think you’ll agree that this song is showing a lot of promise for the future”… which helped me secure some early gigs. They seemed to go down really well and since then the challenge has been to satisfy the demand for gigs without compromising my AS Level studies.
I can play solo acoustically but am lucky to be able to have the support of a full-band when the need arises… such as my gig supporting The Teenagers in early April.
I’ve done some live acoustic sessions for local radio and was recently featured on Radio 1’s Bethan Elfyn’s show as “one to watch” from the North Wales music scene.
I’m now getting requests for gigs from around the UK and will be doing my first gigs in London in April.
My ambition for 2008 is to get to work in the studio with an engineer/arranger/ producer who can help me to take my songs to the next level, and away from the acoustic genre
I hope you like my stuff.

Sounds Like:

"Polly Mackey is a teenage prodigy...what will set Polly apart from others in the oversaturated market, is her genuinely beautiful and inspiring voice...a real tip for the top."
Laissez Faire Club, London

"Wandering, heart strung, acoustic pop!"
NME

"If anyone in the Wrexham scene is going to be ‘big’ then it’s looking likely that it’ll be Polly Mackey"
DDJY

"At just 16 years of age, I think you’ll agree that this song [18 Hours] is showing a lot of promise for the future."
Radio 1 Wales Adam Walton

"Polly has a very raw, essentially British voice with a power that varies throughout her songs. She has an outstanding natural talent for all things musical and expect her musical career to keep throwing up surprises as she continues to write and play."
Friends Stoning Friends

"Polly has come from nowhere to become one of the strongest solo artists in the town."
