Band Members: Hi We are Barbie and Ken, (well not the real ones-just the fake ones). We are a singing duo and LOVE to entertain people with all tastes of music-from old to new and lots in between!! Our shows are full of laughter and we guarantee a night to remember!! We are Vikki and Ken really and live in Stoke on Trent and are happily married and have been for nearly 9 years now... We have a gorgeous little girl called 'Alexia' and she is the best thing in the whole world!! Ken has been involved in music for many years now, once fronting the 70s band 'Hedgehoppers Annoymous' supporting great acts such as 'The Who', 'Slade' and 'The Four tops'. He has travelled worldwide, mostly Europe with his work. He plays Acoustic and Electric guitar and Keyboard as well as singing. But Ken's main ability has to be his way with an audience, with his comedy and Pranks!! Beware!! Vikki has been singing for about 4 years now and loves to put on a professional and entertaining show. Her dress sense and wacky mannerism's reflect the reason for her nickname 'Barbie' and she loves to see the dancefloor full -a real party animal!! She has experience in theatre and dance and has been part of a few acts, including a full band, an acoustic trio and most recently a girl band- Rythmystic.(See video below) Vikki is currently working on a 'Kylie Minogue' tribute which will take her to the South of Spain and Portugal in September 08. Our overall set consists either of 2 x 45 minute sets, 3 x 30 mins or 1 hour and we put on a disco and Compere if needed. We can cater for most ages and vary our set from Shirley Bassey and Frank Sinatra to Girls Aloud, Kylie and Robbie to our super soul and Motown set and everything in between!!Email via this space or send any enquiries to [email protected] Thanks for looking and bE HAPPY!!
Influences: We have many influences from Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder right through to Greenday and the Kaiser chiefs!!! Not forgetting 'Barbie also!! We are a fun party duo who LOVE to entertain and give people a great night to remember!! The name Barbie and Ken was chosen as it sounds quirky and it suits our characters!! We do a huge range of music and are guaranteed to suit most audiences!! Our music ranges from the 50's to the present day.
