Plus, with one half of the band already clutching the award for ‘best new recruit’ in the top TV show, Bad Lads Army, The Cameleonz have success stamped on everything they touch.The Cameleonz are duo, Marcus Birks and Lis Lawrence and their story marches straight from the ranks of the British army forces. In the summer of 2004, Marcus Birks bravely took part in the top TV show, Bad Lads Army, which saw x30 young lads undergoing the basic training of the 1950s national service. Within the first month Marcus received the award for ‘best new recruit’ and this life changing experience gave him the clarity and passion to re-ignite his true desire – music.Upon returning to his home turf in Stoke on Trent, the determined Marcus wasted no time in hitting the circuit of the pubs and working men’s clubs of the Midlands and north of England. It was during this time that Marcus fortuitously met Lis, who was performing in productions for a local operatic society and by 2006, The Cameleonz were wowing audiences up and down the country. But it took just one fan to take them from the northern circuit and catapult them into the national spotlight. The said fan was Pete Williams, father to pop icon, Robbie Williams and Pete was instantly hooked by the band’s charmisa and sound.Pete even plays a cameo roll in their debut video, which, incidentally, was directed by local producer, Chris Stone – ironically, Robbie Williams’ cousin.From that moment, The Cameleonz embarked on a whirlwind of delirious success.
