So, you want to know a bit about me. Fine, be that way. I’m the only heir of a shipping magnate, raised in luxury and refinement in a grand house in the Hampshires. My every wish and command is met by a staff of hundreds, including my own Swedish masseuse named Hans. Not buying it, huh? Okay, I was actually born in Iowa, Des Moines to be exact. I know, not quite as exciting as the Hampshires, but pretty good for Iowa. I’m the youngest of four children, so of course I am the best of the group, just ask me. As the spoiled princess and heir to my parent’s vast fortune measly few dimes, I felt it was in my best interests to go with them when they yanked us up and went to Texas. I did beg Papa to leave the crude boys in Iowa, but he insisted that they had to come along. Something about child welfare and abandonment. I think it’s because he liked them better than me. We did manage to leave my sister behind, but unfortunately, 2 years later she found us again. Witness Protection Program could have done better. So here I was in Texas, a “you guys” girl in a “y’all” world. I adapted. The crude boys got married (imagine that) and sister dear ran off to Vegas with a younger man. Finally, I was alone, left to spend my parent’s money any way I wanted. It wasn’t my fault that mom could now go to work and that, instead of 4 children to support they only had me. More money, happy Bailey. I got Thangs. Lots and lots of thangs. (That would be Texan for “things”.) Then the shoe fell. Work? What’s work? Princesses don’t work. Oh, to avoid work I had to go to college. Fine. Send me. I’ll just grab an MS and “I’m out of there”. But alas, no Frat boy nor lecherous college professor won my heart, so I was forced to get a real degree. I thought a BS was appropriate, don’t you? History. I like old things. Preferably 99-year-old millionaire with no heirs (that’s where Anna Nicole messed up). Even a minor in Anthropology didn’t help – couldn’t dig up any either. That work word came up again. I’m a WASP – White Anglo-Saxon Princess, we don’t work. We have others work for us. At which point, I was told I had quite an imagination (you think?), maybe I ought to do something with it. Oh, and I could be funny too, so add that in. Funny and imaginative. And cute too. Since Roseanne Barr already had that job, I decided to write. Romances. Funny ones. The kind that make you giggle as your traipsing happily down the road of love. And if I happen to throw in a mystery or two, who’s going to notice? I’m a princess; I can do what I want to. Besides, this is my world, my rules.I also have this thing for Spam. Not the food, either. I know it’s ridiculous, but I think they’re funny. Really. They speak to me in ways that no one can imagine, well, except for me. And then there are the voices, and the nekkid muses. And, well, you’ll just have to visit my blog and find out. It’s a strange and crazy world I have, but you’re welcome to come along for the ride. Just don’t expect to sit in first class, that’s Jill’s seat.Join me on my blog Long and Writing Road or come by my romance review blog Isn't it Romantic
