I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I've been a writer for many years, published since 2000. Basically this means I'm older than thirty and younger than a hundred. I recently released my fifth book for MIRA, and my sixth MIRA book, Die Before I Wake, is scheduled for a December 2008 release. I absolutely love writing (when I don't hate it!), and I'm so grateful for the wonderful people I've met along the way.
I'm also grateful for my sweet husband, my two terrific kids, and my granddaughter, who is the absolute light of my life.
I've lived my entire life in the state of Maine, and if the past is any indication of the future, I'll probably die here. I love beaches, and the color green, and driving a stick shift, and the city of Boston, which is where my heart resides.
ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE OF MY LATEST MIRA BOOK!
DIE BEFORE I WAKE is in stores now!
My latest book, DIE BEFORE I WAKE, received 4 1/2 stars from Romantic Times and got a STARRED REVIEW from Publishers Weekly! I'm really excited. Hope you'll pick up a copy!
FROM THE BACK COVER:
Just five days after they meet, Julie Hanrahan and Dr. Thomas Larkin exchange vows on a moonlit Caribbean beach, the whirlwind conclusion to a romance that's swept her off her feet. Tom is sexy, witty and charming and Julie's sure she's found her Prince Charming.
But not every fairy tale ends happily ever after.
With a workaholic husband, a hostile mother-in-law and a resentful stepdaughter, the honeymoon doesn't last long. Especially after Julie finds out that Tom's first wife didn't die in an accident after all. The cops called her death a suicide, but Julie is convinced that somebody helped Beth over the side of the Swift River Bridge.
Every marriage has its secrets. Julie is starting to wonder if she'll survive discovering the truth about hers…or die before she wakes.

BIG NEWS! After being out of print for several years, my first published book, BLACK WIDOW, has been re-released by Cerridwen Press!
A hot North Carolina summer. A small Southern town rife with secrets. A burned-out cop and a beautiful ex-con determined to find her husband's killer. When Kathryn McAllister is released from prison, she returns to Elba, North Carolina, and sets out to track down whoever really killed Michael McAllister. She isn't exactly welcomed with open arms. Michael was the town's fair-haired child, and the citizens of Elba aren't happy about having a convicted murderer in their midst. Not even one whose sentence was overturned. But Kat is determined to find out the truth.
Which is where police chief Nick DeSalvo comes in. Nick, a recently transplanted Northerner, is jaded and world-weary. He's seen it all, and in his job as a New York City cop, nobody was ever guilty of anything. So why should he believe the lovely young widow when she says she was set up? Kathryn McAllister might have great legs, but she's a thorn in Nick DeSalvo's side, and he has no intention of helping her.
Until the file on the McAllister homicide turns up missing, and a series of incidents convinces Nick that Kat is telling the truth. As they explore the town's dark underbelly, unaware that a killer is watching their every move, the passion between them flares and ignites. Somewhere in the midst of that tangled web of secrecy and deceit lies the truth. But will they find it before it's too late?

The King is Dead...Long Live the King! (or, Out With the Old, In With the New)

The book is done.  I finished revisions last week.  I'll still have to do at least one more read-through, when I reach the galley stage (which my publisher refers to as the print-out), after...
