Welcome to my "band" space. I'm a freelance journalist of 25 years and a part time magazine editor, and I love to rock. You'll find much of my stuff is on one of my 3 blogs, one of which is secret so if you have that url, please keep it to yourself.I'm a Brummie born and bred - well, the posh bit just outside (Solihull) - and it took me 40 years to leave that fine city. It'll probably take me another 40 to leave this fine county of Yorkshire. I love it and now live in one of Barnsley's pit villages. To find out what I'm up to right now, visit my daily weblog:

My Interests

Reading, writing, walking, animals, nature, birdwatching, sightseeing, beach combing, historical buildings, watching football (I even understand the offside rule), live music, blogging, meeting people, nattering, shopping, cider, history, chocolate ...

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to go back and meet my teenage angst-ridden self so I could tell me that it was all going to be ok.

Music:

Rock - but not bubblegum rock nor death metal. Love glam and heavy rock. Punk rock. Anything I can headbang to really, and yes I really do headbang. Even used to disco dance once upon a time (honest injun). In fact, I just love to dance. I'll even pogo. Classical - anything from Mozart to Tchaikovsky. Also love what an old DJ mate of mine gets out of what he calls his shit box - Laurel and Hardy, The Ovaltinies, Barry Manilow. Whatever I can have a laff to.

Movies:

Romancing the Stone, The Jewel in the Nile, Airplane, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Pirates of the Carribean - the Curse of the Black Pearl, Thunderheart, A Prayer for the Dying, Lucky Number Slevin, The Usual Suspects. Love gritty thrillers but can't watch horror films as they give me nightmares. Mind you, Abbott and Costello give me nightmares ...

Television:

Yes, I do have one. Two, actually. No, three. Plus two recordable DVDs - one of which has a massive hard drive. Heroes is pretty darned good. And so was Life on Mars.

Books:

Far too many to mention.

Heroes:

I daren't say - I'll get lynched.
