About Me

"Amy Gamlen in my opinion, is one of the most important saxophonist and musician currently performing. Her sense of musical form, technical mastery, adventure, and most important in this music, communication of profound feeling has been evident every time I've heard her. Amy's high level of musicianship and musicality is apparent in not only her improvisations but in her choice of musical companions and accompanists who, like Amy, are some of the finest and strongest musicians of the younger generation." Steve Potts 2007----------------English saxophonist and composer Amy Gamlen lived and worked in London before moving to Paris in 2001. Band Members: AMY GAMLEN GROUP: with Thomas Savy - bass clarinet, Michael Felberbaum - guitare, Karl Januuska - drums, Stephane Kerecki - bass. This group recently recorded an album, not yet released, watch this space! for the new Paris based record label, “La laboratoire de la création”. SYNAPSE TRIO: with Karl Jannuska - drums, Pierre Perchaud - guitar, Amy Gamlen - saxes + Arnette de Mille, dance. It’s played live here with Hans Koller on piano, Dave Whitford on bass, Jeremy Price on trombone and Paul Clarvis on drums at the Vortex Jazz Club in London.
