BIOGRAFIA MORRIS CAPOUYA
Morris è nato a Los Angeles, California.
Comincia a studiare musica all'età di sette anni grazie a sua nonna che lo inizia al suo primo strumento, il pianoforte, a cui si aggiunge ben presto il clarinetto.
Appena ragazzo suona con gruppi professionisti formati da musicisti molto più grandi di lui ed è da questi artisti che apprende le sfumature e le peculiarità del jazz americano.
I suoi studi continuano nel celebre Berklee College of Music di Boston sotto la tutela del grande sassofonista George Garzone.
Negli anni '80 si trasferisce ad Amsterdam ed inizia a girare l'Europa con il gruppo Sheer Madness.
Al suo ritorno negli USA collabora con artisti di grosso calibro come Bill Watrous e Frank Rosolino per poi approdare alla famosa orchestra di Don Menza e suonare con figure leggendarie del Jazz come Buddy Colette, Paul Horn e Cat Anderson.
Attualmente, seguendo le orme di molti musicisti Jazz che lo hanno preceduto, Morris risiede in Europa.
MORRIS CAPOUYA'S BIOGRAPHY
Morris was born in Los Angeles, California.
He began studying music at the age of 7, thanks to his grandmother who introduced him to his first musical instrument, the piano. Soon after, he also learned to play the clarinette.
As a young man, he began playing music for professional bands of musicians, much older than himself. They taught him the all the nuances and peculiarities of American Jazz.
He continued his studies at the famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, guided by the great avant-garde saxophone player known as George Garzone.
He moved to Amsterdam in the '80s and began touring Europe with the band called Sheer Madness.
When he returned to the States, he began playing side by side with big-name musicians, such as Bill Watrousand Frank Rosolino, to later begin playing with the famous Don Menza orchestra, not to mention legendary Jazz players, such as Buddy Colette, Paul Horn and Cat Anderson.
He is currently living in Europe, as many Jazz musicians did before him.
