I'm Kitana, a little Aussie Chick who LIVES for music and writing songs. FIERCELY INDEPENDENT I've Released a couple of Albums, won a couple of awards, played a fair few gigs :-)
To me. . . Being an Independent Artist in today's Music Industry, comes with a very high sense of accomplishment & pride in knowing that you belong to the generation of musician's that stay honest, pure to your craft & focused on the 'message' you reach out with via your songs. It's one 'pigeon hole' in an Industry of 'Labels' that I gladly wear for the world to see!
A LITTLE ABOUT ALLOT:
I'm proud to have had 4 'Number 1' songs chart on Independent 'Top 40' Radio Charts across the globe, with one of my favourite Highlights, receiving the 2007 Fame Games 'EFFIGY' Independent Music Award for 'Best Pop Artist', feeling very grateful to have been given the opportunity's & accolades I have, over the years. Some of them Include; an Anthem Song for the Australian Socceroo's Published with 'Universal Music' Australia for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, appearing on an 8 Week Songwriting Documentary for SBS TV Australia, Songwriting & Music Awards, National Music Airplay on both Commercial Radio and TV, Movie Soundtrack Credits & appearing Live around my beautiful Country. In 2008 I was approached to host my very own Streaming Radio Podcast, Supporting Independent Music 'The Music Mansion-Where Independent Music lives! syndicated Monthly through PHIBBLE RADIO USA, for which I am both extremely Proud & Passionate to be involved in.
HOW I FEEL ABOUT MUSIC:
On my music.... when I am writing, I feel it bleeding my emotions out in a way I could never just verbally express. A lost childhood of sorts, helps me continue to search for those feelings that keep me & hopefully all of us... forever young...
My hope for anyone out there, that has a love of music or a want to 'try' regardless of your age, inexperience, or the DreamKillers of the world telling you that your 'Not Good Enough', is to 'LIVE THE DREAM & GO FOR IT' for I am living proof that you do not need to be on stage by age 2, or selling Platinum Records in order to be fulfilled by music or successful in your efforts! I am merely one of millions doing it! ....Music is source of freedom for EVERYONE!!

ALBUM REVIEW :
"Little Make Up Girl" is brilliant! Simply a brilliant pop song and "Write U a Ringtone" is so addictively infectious that it should carry a government health warning! I just can't get it out of my head!! "Are You Like Me" is absolutely sublime. "Take My Hand" is as beautiful a love song as anything I have heard! The standout track on the whole album for me is - I think - "Something More"! Honestly, I think this is absolutely brilliant! I love the instrumentation in it, with all that Celtic feeling stuff going on, the Vocal, as on all tracks, is simply superb. I'm in awe of all the shades and emotions Kitana fits into the songs with what seems like effortless ease, strolling in and out of different pop genres, writing a slice of perfection at every turn is simply... well... I hate to use the word, but... 'awesome!' What stands out most for me, having heard all the songs many times individually, is the way all these cracking tunes gel together to make such a naturally cohesive album! I love it!
