DAN HANNAFORD started out cleaning public toilets to pay his way through uni, now he is living his dream- playing music for a job. A devoted father to his 2 year old daughter, he provides for his young family gigging in pubs and premier venues up and down this beautiful East Coast of Australia.
Recognised as a gifted songwriter, Dan aims 'to write a song that will change the world'. This passionate reputation has already earned him achievements locally & internationally including: 2009 Finalist in the national APRA Professional Development/Songwriter Awards, Live performances in The UK and all over Australia, Airplay on various radio stations nation wide, Dans song 'Somebody' (written about youth suicide) was included on compilation CD/DVD distributed world wide on the cover of Australian Surfing Life Magazine & also featured in a film played in cinemas around Australia.
'Son of a preacher man' Dan grew up surfing & fishing in the coastal town of Ballina, Northern NSW. He spent 5 years as frontman for heavy funk/hip hop band 'Juxtapose' which included a year on the road touring pubs, festivals and highschools nationally aimed at the issue of youth suicide. Juxtapose was invited to perform at the 2004 GOLD COAST 'BIG DAY OUT' festival and were also Top 5 Musicoz Finalists in 2003. Now based on the Gold Coast QLD, Dan has recently emerged as a solo artist with his new sound he calls 'Roots Soul & Rock'n Roll'. [Currently working on Debut Album-coming soon!]
