About Me

Random facts:
I live for a good song and a great show. And peanut butter.
I grew up listening to Joni Mitchell and Karla Bonnoff. My dad would drive me around in our pea green Volkswagen buggy (which I called the wee-wee car) with the top rolled down and the music turned up so Joni Mitchell's 'Circle Game' was heard above the hum of the engine.
In high school, I was a marching band nerd. I played clarinet and in my senior year, I was a drum major. Marching band is where I met Sarah Zimmermann, the guitar goddess. We've been playing together for 4 years now. We're musical soul mates. :)
I've been blessed with amazing, devoted fans who come to shows with car loads of friends and family. I love you guys.
I like to donate blood. Try it sometime.
Oh and I'm in love with Jason from the Bachelorette this past season.
What most people don't know about me:
I'm currently training for the Marine Corps Marathon to honor the life of my late cousin, Lt. Travis L. Manion. Check out his page on my top friends. If you'd like to sponsor me: http://www.travismanion.com/mcm2008/sponsor.php

Band Members: Ani DiFranco has praised Liz’s music as “Gorgeous”, adding “I love it!” Internet listeners agree. Liz was voted the No. 1 all-time female vocalist in Garageband.com’s acoustic category in May of 2006.

Liz’s first recordings caught the attention of WC Handy award winner, Jim Tullio. Separated by a generation in age, the two songwriters teamed-up to write the internet smash, “Naked Trees”. The song became the No. 1 all-time song (amid 3,400 songs) in Garageband.com’s acoustic S/S category in ’06.
Her solo songwriting is garnering praise as well. This spring, Berklee College of Music honored her with their Songwriting Division Achievement Award. What’s more, ‘Whatever Goes Up’, a metaphorical song about life’s highs and lows, was ranked the No. 2 song in Berklee College of Music’s 2008 songwriting competition and was just awarded the Grand Prize in Innovation Entertainments' Lo-Budget Songwriting Competition. And her honest vocal approach has not gone unnoticed at the well-known music school---—Liz is among a handful of vocalists selected to perform at the Berklee Performance Center for their "Singer's Night" this spring.
Liz is often accompanied by guitar talent Sarah Zimmermann. The two team-up for engaging vocal harmonies and a rapport with audiences that is filling coffeehouses and venues throughout the region. Liz has performed at the Philly Folkfest, Club Passim’s in Boston, Tupelo Hall in New Hampshire, Philly’s World Café, Chaplin’s and the Steel City Coffeehouse. She has shared the stage with Rik Emmett, Andy Pratt, Lucy Kaplansky, John Flynn, Jeffrey Gaines, and will be opening for Livingston Taylor & Kenny Rankin this summer. Cited as one of the ‘Top Ten Moments’ in ’05 for her performance on NBC’s 10! TV show, Liz is a captivating performer who bonds an audience to her music.
